For my department, I work as a Receptionist, and the biggest thing would be to handle the phones call successfully so the right information can get across to the potential student. I believe my strengths are that I do provide a positive working enviorment for not just my staff but for anyone who walks into my room, the challenges would be to try and answer the phone calls by the 2 second ring instead of the third.
Hi Andrew,
Many schools seem to have service challenges in the Admissions and Financial Aid process. It's great that you are aware of the challengs and are making strides to elevate the service from good to great (great book by the way).
When you think of what "outstanding" service in both of these processes looks like, what are the three most important elements? How will you be articulate these elements to your team?
Best of luck to you with improving this service! Thank you for your contribution.
When taking students through the entire Admissions and Financial Aid process there are service challenges all along the way. The strengths in our final report would be that quality interviews were conducted in Admissions with all questions answered. In Financial Aid, quality assistance was provided from representatives that are thorough and knowledgeable in their field.
The challenge would be to elevate the service from good to great. I would access the level of service of each individual representative and work to improve to a level to outstanding service in both departments in every interview.
Hi there Susan,
It's wonderful that personal attention to students and staff is a strength of your department, especially working in Student Services. I can imagine that having a lack of resources available to help your students would be a major challenge. How might you increase your resources for students and staff without spending additional dollars?
Thank you for your insight!
I work in the Student Services Department and would say the strengths of my deparment would be a personal one on one caring for each and every student and staff member who enters my office. The challenges would be a lack of resources to assist students with personal and financial difficulties they are having that may keep them from attending school.
