The better dressed and professional looking, the better the oportunity for a 'good' job.
Like it or not students need to know the importance of looking professional. It sets the customer at ease and makes them feel they are getting a quality repair for their money.
This is true. The job is to get the student, who hasn't been in the real work force to understand why a change will make an big impression on everyone.
My 40 years experience has been with hi-line cars. I stress to my students dress is the first most important factor. Todays automotive repair market has a great deal of interaction with the customer and his technican. it's easier for the assistant service manager to get a proper diagnosis of the customers vehicle when the customer can talk directly to the technican. And it builds a great customer base for all.
As our students enter the work force, they lack the experience in their field. The one thing they have working for them is their appearance. If they look like they have it together people will think the same. This can boost self confidence and can work as a self motivator when properly coached by the learning institution.
Appearance in the workplace makes an impression on everyone, the boss, your co-workers and the customer.
