It sounds like you have a comprehensive plan to involve students. Any student success is time for a celebration.
As an online school we are constantly trying to improve our students’ involvement and activities to help students feel a part of something. Additional ideas for school involvement and activities that I have are: Meet and greet with faculty, staff and administrators, Online tours of our school and daily operations, faculty mentoring through a wiki or social media site, student ran groups such as fraternity/sorority and/or student government.
Food and clubs. Students like when we have BBq in parking lot and popcorn machine in library.Clubs for ice carving popular to.
Ideal school involvement activities come in many packages. Clubs are a great way to bring students together. Clubs don't have to be based on what the schools focus is, either. Sometimes students like to have a club that goes on outings like bowling, so they can have a social life.
Our Campus just finished Student apprecation day with lunch for all Students that wanted to attend. Birthdays are recognized, we have blood drives, etc.
Student accomplishments are posted for all to see also.
I Student Counsel just restarted with some very good Students that are very outgoing and this should help the Student body become more involved.
Create awards to be given to students such as student of the month and display their picture for the month in the hallway.
Give students gift for perfect attendance.
Have potluck and and socials for the students.

In our program the students get very close. We do lots of incentive activies. I love the idea of attendence awards and student of the month, etc. Great way for them to all stay on task.
We have a student council that assists us with input from the student population for productive and fun activities. Attendance award lunches , holiday contests, and community charity activities.

Our facility has all kinds of clubs with a wide range of themes. Every student is welcomed to join. They also can arrange rund raising events to sponsor club activities
We do alot of activities for our students, such as: competition, certificates, contest.
We are now going through the process to make inmprovments to our retention through many of the ideas in this lesson. We are implementing many new clubs and a mentoring program announced today to improve faculty and student interactions which will lead to more retention
I absolutely agree. From a distance learning setting 80% of your time is focused on the 20% of the student body that are problem students. Our main goal in the student services department is retention. However, as stated above most of our time is with the challenged students. We do speak with the successful students and reiterate what a great job they are doing. It does speak volumes of thier character that they can work full time and be self disciplined and motivated to be on schedule with their program. These individuals can work unsupervised. Good quality to have when searching for employment opportunities.

I always thought that it might be a good idea to have a mixer with refreshments and food before the first class in order to intriduce students to each other, that way on day one of class they will already recognize some faces.

We have things like Student of the Term, Perfect Attendance, Helping Hands and honors recognition pins and certificates. We also have clubs for each department and field trips to gain experience in a real working environment. The students get really excited about being recognized and try to get all the pins they can!
In our school, we present few master workshop for the students to get a little extra education, we also organize and participate in many charity adn fund raiser event where the students can volunter and get a real life contact with true professional. Most of them get their externship or job that way...
