Why is an overview and requirements very important on the first day of class?
The overview will give the instructor a short overview of the course which can be used as a guide when lecturing and help the student in seeing what material will be covered during the course. In addition, an overview will help with discussion of the course goals and objectives, help define your expectations for the students participation, and it serves as a basis for evaluation in the course.
