About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Scott, Passion for one's field and enthusiasm for teaching about it goes a long way in generating student excitement. We need to bring both to our classes each time they meet. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
MICHAEL, How do you do that in your classes? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Kelly, Good way to learn about and program for the learning preferences of your student. This way you are going to increase their success in the course while increasing their motivation levels. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Kelly, I think this is a great idea. What fun it must be. No wonder the students like it so much. Doing this helps with their transition to the real world of employment and increases their excitement about the upcoming graduation. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
MICHAEL, How do you get this message across to your students to they understand and follow it? This is essential for their success in the course so they need to hear the message clearly. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Nate, This is a good point because it puts us in the minds of students. By thinking about how we would like to learn new information we then can plan our instructional delivery to help them become a part of the learning process. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Landis, What you are doing with your connecting of the course content to the real world is extremely valuable to your students as you well know. This approach increases the ROI for the students because they get to see both application and relevancy. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Joseph, What are some examples you use in these two formats? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Landis, This is what a learning leader should be about. You are earning the respect of your students while developing rapport with them. This sets the stage for some very enjoyable learning to occur. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Russell, Good point about professionalism. We have to walk the walk for our students if we are going to be role models for them as they develop their own career styles. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
