Harry, It's okay to let someone know your opinion, so stating "in my opinion", "I hope you will agree with me", or even "I believe". As it states in module 3 "proper representation does not mean that you cannot express your own opinion about your school". You can, but it MUST be supported by the facts and expressed as your opinion. So your statement above does not have the supporting facts to back up the "Best in the area". Kathie Dherit
William, FERPA rights are probably the most not followed. We have care and concern for the student. Many want to discuss issues with the student's family memebers, but since they are possibly older than 18 and refelcted as a dependent on their parent's taxes you are not able to speak to the parent without the written consent of the student. Shawn, Correct, you are using "your words" and "your preception" of the information you state. So the superlatives that could be used is your preception of what you think. This isn't factual information that can be backed up with data. Kathie Dherit
Travis, If you stick with what you know, you should be "safe" in telling the prospective student the facts of the institution. Kathie Dherit
Ron, If we give the student or prospective student "just the facts" then I believe we have done both. We have a high level of commitment by doing the right thing. Kathie Dherit

Mary Ann, I'd be cautious too. I would wonder if they know what they are talking about and if they could back up their statements with facts. Kathie Dherit
James, Exactly. Habits become a second nature. If we continually do the same thing, it will become a habit and telling the truth and being honest, should become a habit. Kathie Dherit
Brion, True, we want them to be prepared and know what to expect going into a big step like going to a post-secondary educational institution like ours. Kathie Dherit

Edward, Training is a constent. Things change all the time, so being on top of things helps in the end. Kathie Dherit
Jamie, That's wonderful! Trying to uphold the honest and integrity of the school in all aspects - admissions, faculty, financial aid, etc. is what YTI is all about! Kathie Dherit
