Carol, I agree. However, it is also important to understand "where the students are at" in upper-level courses, to ensure that they have retained information from their prerequisite courses. Tremayne Simpson

roy, This is a great suggestion. Instead of focusing on the students that are active in class, it is a good idea to pay attention to the those that are not participating. They may want to be a part of the discussion, but may need a "special" invitation to contribute. Tremayne Simpson

Cheryl, I enjoy using case studies as well. They are highly engaging for the students and it enables them to apply the learned information, directly within an activity. Tremayne Simpson

Ann , I agree with varying the course activities, on a "class-to-class" basis. This not only keeps the material "fresh" for an instructor that has taught it several times, but it also provides different experiences for the students. Tremayne Simpson
Marie, This is a great idea. Do you provide the quizzes at the beginning of each class session? Tremayne Simpson
Anita , This is an interesting activity. Have any students produced their own videos for the assignment? Tremayne Simpson
Anita , This is a great idea. Generally, students are not packing their bags to be "early" for the next course, instead they are doing it because they do not feel that the end of the session is important. Assigning activities during last few minutes of class, will enable the students to feel that the entire class is important. Tremayne Simpson

Anita , I agree. It is important that students have an opportunity to assess their learning experience, at the midpoint of the course. Tremayne Simpson
