Karen, I agree that presentation support materials should be used as outline material only. Student retention of information can be negatively effected, when the slides are saturated with text. Each slide should provide simple subject headings or anecdotes that support the lecture, only. Tremayne Simpson

TIMOTHY, I also use this instructional approach, when addressing my students. From my experience, students seem to respond better when they perceive their instructor as a "course facilitator". Tremayne Simpson

Michael, I agree. The best time to request for students to provide their course input, would be after final grades have been completed. This way students are ensured that their input (negative or positive) will not effect the grade in the course. Tremayne Simpson

Amos , I agree. It is also important to remind substitute instructors, to document course lesson plans as well. This information will be useful for the instructor, once they return to the class. Tremayne Simpson

Karla , As a suggestion (you may be doing this already), it may be a good idea to not use the production schedule for the last few classes of the term, to see if the students have acquired this learned, time management structure. Tremayne Simpson
