exercise

I really like exercise and do much better with all the general stressors if I am committed to exercise regularly.

I have to admit, I do not like to exercise; I do it because I have to it. I eat, I work, I stress, I exercise, and I sleep. With all of the stressors in my life, if I do not regularly include an exercise regimen, those items would undoubtly have more of an impact on me: mentally, physically and spiritually.

My wife and I have been trying to get up early before work and exercise together. It helps solve several problems for us, staying in better shape, giving us some alone time before our son wakes up and reduces stress. I think it helps also that we have one another as partners. In the past we have tried independently to do similar exercise programs but after a few weeks I would skip a day, then another....

I agree regular exercise reduces my day tot day stress.

I like your approach Kimberlee. Exercise is a great activity for those 20 minutes but there are many others as well. For some instructors, reading, listening to music or even just relaxing by the TV can make a big difference.

I think taking even 20 minutes out of the day for you. Exercise is great way to relieve stress and work through it mentally. If you do not like to exercise read or meditate, take a personal time out.

I like your approach Robert. It creates consistency and a healthy routine.

Exercise is major factor in reducing stress. The key is to pick out a time to exercise and exerise every day at that time.

Sounds like you have a great system in place Jennifer! Taking a break to swim in the middle of the day sounds like a fabulous way to hit the reset button.

It is important for me to excersise a lot.
Yes, the stress from work is great- but with my job, I am required to eat/ taste all of my student's work. So If I didn't excerise a lot, I would be have very unhealthy health condiditions.

I try to go at least 4 times a week. When my schedule is such as it is now (split doubles) I force my self to leave the campus for several hours to go swim.
I need the downtime of of having no one talk to me- and me not having to listen to anybody. (It's quite hard to talk underwater:))

And it gives me time to clear my head.

Consistency is really the key Mark. We've got to make the choice every day to exercise and stay fit. Otherwise, our short term efforts go to waste.

For the past 4 years I have committed to either walking or bicycling 2 miles each day (& sometimes night). It has paid off. The trick is, of course, sticking to it, every day, no matter what. It does reduce stress.

I always relax and un-wind when I ride my bike!

Wow, it sounds like you are very disciplined when it comes to working out Bob! Keep up the great work on that. You are an inspiration to others.

I try to exercise 6-days a wk. It's not only good for reducing stress and keeping me in shape but, being diabetic it also helps keep my blood sugar under some control.

I have been working out 6 days a week for the last 8 years without it my stress level would soar . Workout time is my escape time no phone no interuptions. You can make excusses to not work out bot once you commit you will find it become a lifestyle with many benifits.

For me exercise goes along with pain. After a car accident injured my back a couple years ago, when i hurt too much to exercise, my stress increases. When i exercise, my pain and stress tend to eventually ease.

Exercise is an awesome stress reliever for me. I can organize my thoughts, think about problems and possible solutions and even take a little frustration out on the weights or the treadmill.

I have gone through both high- and low-stress periods in my career and life and find that all parts of my professional and personal productivity are more easily navigated when exercise is incorporated. Doing the exercise regularly helps alleviate the stress and many displaced emotions like anger.

Exercise does help to reduce the stress level as long as you don't get stessed out trying to find time to exercise. Getting into a routine seems to be the best way to get around this.
