I would like to start running again, unfortunatley 2 knee surgeries are not going to allow that. Maybe I should buy a bike.

I will think positive and always look for the good side of the situation.

I think I could benifit from useing a list sistem.I will be trying this.

First, I will start to go to bed earlier every day.Exercise used to be a part of my weekly routine and I will restore this soon.I will reduce the volume and number of people that are stealing time from me due to their lack of focus by redirecting so of their time to self help projects.

Sounds like you are setting a great example for your 1 year old and it must be nice to have them be a part of the exercise routine too! It also sounds like you really have reasonable expectations for yourself. Great work Jennifer!

Sounds like you are in a tough situation Bob. And yes, we often have to prioritize when we've got too much to do in life. Sometimes people are disappointed in us when we do not complete lower priority tasks, or when we do not get to those tasks quickly. But to your point, we do often have to decide between the lesser of two evils.

Do try to work on that if you can Alan, but note that coworkers are not the only people you can share with. Family and friends are also great outlets. Go ahead and give sharing a try with the people who you are most comfortable sharing with.

Sounds like you have several great outlets Timothy. That's really helpful. Yes, even yard work is a great way to exert a little energy and can help you refocus and relax.

I relivie stress by playing softball with my daughters, fishing , hunting, and camping when I can. And if all else fails I will even do yard work.

EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE!!! This is the only stress reliever that I can consistently do and afford to do. I exercise daily and feel sooo much better once I leave the gym. I use my workout time as my buffer between school and home. I have also taken to getting a massage once a month. This also helps tremendously to relieve stress. If only massages were cheaper, I would go once a week. I will continue to exercise as my stress management device.

I will continue to try to get a good night sleep and go for my regular runs around town lake with my 1 year old. No matter how stressful life gets it is important to keep it in perspective and realize I can only do so much.

Many of the things discussed are already being done. The one thing I am bad about though is not opening up to my co-workers and family when I encounter stersses that can't be eliminated. I intend to work on that one as I can see where it would be a great idea.

There is no good solution for the major stressor in my life. It is always a decision between the lesser of the two evils. Communication is the only form of stress relief. I believe it may be the best way to eliminate stress. As I age I have discovered that calm subdued communication is the most effective towards the relief. My spouse & I from time to time have to analyze the facts & make decisions we would rather not. Communicating our concerns to each other is our only coping mechanism.

Sounds like you've found a few outlets that work well for you Dawn. That's wonderful to hear. It's nice to have a little variety in terms of how you cope with stress.

When I find my stress level increasing I will either take a walk or talk with my mom or a close friend about the situation.

I won't be afraid to ask others for help and I will also try exercising or breathing exercises when the stress level begins to rise.

Indeed. Start small Matthew. Take some baby steps and work your way up.

Sounds like a great idea Lee! Sounds tough but do enjoy the good times. Also, it's ok to take a break every now and then if another family member can watch them for a few hours. Taking a step away can really help you be more fully there for them when you return.

Tennis is a great activity Ron. Great idea. Getting more exercise in your schedule can mitigate a lot of the stress in your life. I'd recommend finding a reliable partner who likes to play often. That will likely do the trick.

Play more tennis! Seriously, I'll try to get some more exercise into my weekly schedule. I think the exercise route can mitigate a lot of stress.
