teaching

We should have passion in what we do

Hi Linda,
I often wonder why would you stay into any profession if there is not a love for it, but I am sure everyone has their reasons. I absolutely love teaching and ANYONE can attest to that!
Patricia

I agree. We were obviously all students at one time. Nothing is worse than dealing with an instructor who would rather be doing something else. i think when an instructor is excited about his/her work, it shines through in their lechtures. It motivates the students to WANT to learn and to listen in class as well!

I agree. Today, I had a student send an email on how I have impacted her life from the very first semester of class until now. This is her last semester in which she will be obtaining her degree. I knew we as instructors can impact a student life but it still makes my heart melt when the goals of teaching has been accomplished.

Hi Sabrina,
Let's face it, we are our students biggest cheerleaders. The cheerleaders must have a an abundance of enthusiasm.

I totally agree in regards to showing and having a passion for the profession. Students can tell if you are genuine and compassionate about your subject. How can you encourage students if you as the instructor show no intrest in the subject? Praise and rewards will take your students a long way. You never know when we as instructors play or can make a significant difference in a student's life.

Hi Athyna,
The love for the profession really shows and the lack of it shows as well.
