What Ive took out this course is that for us teachers/facilitators and instructors, there are several ways to interact with the young children. We want to be able to grasp their attention and excel participation to a confident level. We want to see their achievements and they want to be recognized. We want the young people to grasp our facilitated information so that they can apply it daily to their everyday lives. Learning time management is very important since the goal is to be effiecient with homeworks, finals etc.
Durning this course (CMS) has extend the ability to beable to make sure a child understand that change can be scary or just complicated and as the instructor will be here to guide them step by step.
In order for our students to be successful in an online learning environment, we as instructors must be familiar with how the learning platform program we are using works. We need to ensure we know how students will access and complete assignments and be prepared to answer students' questions. Also, we need to ensure that our students know we are there to help them through the course when they are having difficulty understanding or accessing.
In my on-line learning environment, I have planned on providing a clear, concise flow in Google Classroom, of which most of my students are comfortable, in providing them with as much ownership of the process as possible.
I believe one of the most important aspects of online learning is to ensure students feel supported in their journey. Not all students, nor instuctors for that matter, have the same level of online management skills and may find it difficult to access the material. Setting up the material in a consistent and acessible manner is vital to a students success and ease of understanding. Recognition that peers who may be teaching the same content may approach it in a different manner is also very important.
It is very important to get the best knowledge of the online delivery platform including all the delivery techniques and strategies, so I can apply them when navigating throughtout the CMS. Achieving these objectives will allow me to help my students when delivering the
E-learning instruction.
Instructors must make sure that they are very knowledgeable about online instruction and have the support that students will need to help them feel comfortable in doing online work.
This gave me a few areas I hadn't considered before such as summarization of a discussion forum. I always felt like these were kind of left hanging even when I provided individual feedback. It also reminded me to check those automatic replies the calendar sends out to students.
I have learned that elearning is key to online success, and how as an instructor i need to understand the basics of online learning to be effective as an online iinstructor. i am progressing through this.
Just providing a supporting helpful presence is huge.
I have mentored students that were taking online courses, where there was really no teacher on the other end to get help from or intereact with. This is a problem.
There is a little comfort in knowing that teachers have not totally been replaced by computers, yet.
What have you learned from this module and how do you intend to apply it?
It is important to share with learners they will have to exercise a significant amount of mental effort while learning. I did not know how this impacts retention levels, or that here is a positive correlation based on the amount of mental effort experienced by students. I want students to know the importance and how meaningful online learning is.
This motivates me to want to share more challenging examples and scenarios so students can connect to the topic areas addressed in the course. I have learned first hand how learning outcomes are higher when learners are actively engaged in the learning process. Any student can share an opinion, but when asked to find information to support that opinion, they learn opinions are often not supported and need data, facts and sound, proven evidence.
I believe communication is the key to a successful online course. We live in a fast paced world, students expect responses to their questions regarding content or technical problems in a timely manner. Lessening student frustration is largely based on making each student feel that they are a top priority.
the instructor have different ways methods to to teach the same goal and also they need to understand the online plattfor to used in effective way and support the student
I am new to the online envoronment and am seeking to learn as much as I can through this training. I appreciate any tips!
I learned that as an instructor in an institution, that I may have no imput on what platform I will have to use to teach. So, to me, that means that if requested to do an online course, I must factor into my plan TIME in which to completely familiarize myself with the online platform or program being used to deliver the course.
An online course requirers an active participation from students and an instructor who shows enthusiasm.
I have done online training before but to mainly orient myself with the various learning systems like Blackboard and Moodle. What was interesting to was the characteristics of on-line courses which include the structural integrity, navigational simplicity, intellectual interaction and active learner-centered learning. I will definitely keep these in mind when creating course content on line for my class
Having a very structured format is very important to delivery of online format
in order to reach my students i have to use different technique and no the content knowledge and goals, grading,. Teachers must use different techniques. What work for one may not work for other students.
That to teach online the instructor teacher has to be aware of different techniques in instruction and online instruction.
