Rubrics are a great tool for the students to truly understand expectations. I love the peer review because it allows the student to be able to judge their own paper more effectively.

It is critical in the learning environment to fully understand what an assessment is and how to create the objectives in a rubric to assist students in meeting required objectives.

I plan on revising the rubric we use to clarify objectives and criteria.

I learned to consider the use of rubrics to help give students a guideline of objectives/goals to hit.

I also learned the importance of utilizing summative and formative exercises to help improve the lesson plans throughout my course.

I have learned that when developing a rubric, it is important to include learning objectives. To apply this in an course, I would make sure that the feedback provided is specifically tailored to provide a student with tasks that will help them to learn each objective.

Linking assessments to the course objectives is important for the instructor and the student. When building rubrics, linking the criteria to assignment objectives will help students see what the purpose of the assignment is. It also helps the instructor focus on how the assignment is related to course outcomes.

Feedback should be specific

Providing feedback to students is more than just "this is good" or "I agree" or "I do not agree." It's about taking the student response/assignment/assessment and providing meaningful feedback that turns into a learning objective for the student and enhances the learning experience.

I have gained a better understanding of assessments and the two types. This has encouraged me to formulate a plan to incorporate precise and positive feedback to my students.

I learn the importance of student asessment as well as how crucial is providing feedback to students to help their learning process.  Now, proving the correct feedback is even more important.

Individualized feedbacks are necessary.

The importance of feedback!  We all love to get feedback, but how often do we give it?

I think adding more specific criteria for peer responses on discussion posts would improve value of discussion.

Providing students with a rubric for self-assessment, helps them realize the importance of objectives.

It's important to have a clear standards listed on a rubric so students know exactly how they will be graded and what standards they must live up to. I personally never liked peer grading--I did however, benefit from peer review before I turned an assignment in.

Interaction and effective feedback is important

Formative assessments, rubrics, self-assessment, feedback.

Reply to Arturo Rodriguez Jr's post: I also agree giving the students positive and constructive meaninful feedback it help the students to  conect to their learning objectives and goals.

I think meaningful feedback is always useful for connecting learning objectives in specific details as long as they used them the proper way by giving the studentsthe pernitent information to help them to develop their knowledge and skills.

I have learned about the importance of creating a rubric when assessing learning. Also important to give immediate feedback to students.
