Katherine,
You are correct! The catalog and the enrollment agreement constitute the contract between the student and the institution. The enrollment agreement must be fully executed with all information completed and appropriate signatures.

This is a great tool to ensure that I have all of the information that I need.

Is there any one notebook that is better than the other, i.e letter size as oppose to legal size notebook?

Refund policy, transfer of credit policy. Honestly I have been an admissions Director for over 10 years and I already had most of the resources in my book.

The Catalog, Financial Aid options, Orientation and Academic Calendar are the main points of discussion during the admissions process at our institution.

Application Fees and Admission Requirements, Enrollment Agreement, Start Dates as well as Graduation Dates. These are some of the most common terms discussed during the admissions process at my institution.

I would think it would be the catalog and also the enrollment agreement constitute the contract between the student and the school. everything should be well informed and accurate in order to enroll or interest the prospective student.

I have place my institutions policy and procedure information in the notebook, as well as the information I gained here. This practice is very helpful. Having everything in one place as a reference will help to continue the learning process by adding material in the future.

Jennifer ,
Excellent additions! Keep adding additional resources to assist you in having the right information at your fingertips.

Caterina,
Agreed! When you have programs such as massage therapy, nursing, cosmetology, etc. that are regulated by additional agencies, I highly recommend that their rules and statutes are placed in your binder as well.

Patty Aronoff

Esther,
The notebook should be the most used book on your reference shelf. Glad to hear that it works hard for you.

Patty Aronoff

Nick,
The more we communicate the better we become at our positions. So much knowledge needs to be shared!

Patty Aronoff

Lashunda,
Orientation is an important function of the enrollment process. It is the hand off to education and the start of all to come.

Patty Aronoff

Karla,

Catalogs are very important. It is part of the contract but just as important it is the best information source for all about your school.

Patty Aronoff

Nick,
You are "spot on!" Marketing reaches our students in so many ways providing information, both in depth and quick bits. Our goal in an effective marketing strategy is to transfer the needed information to the receiver and have the expected outcomes.

Patty Aronoff

Firmie,
Class hours should be discussed with the student so they are aware of the time required and what credit will be given.

The Resource Notebook is a great way to aid in keeping up to date with a variety of information about the university. For example, I have put several things in my Resource Notebook such as education requirements, programs, entry point courses, credits, tuition, policies, and procedures.

Having this tool nearby will help me when I have question and to be able to best inform my students.

Current information to keep admissions personel on track to providing up to date information to current or prospective students. It is important to have the current catalog to pull information from, as well as new rules or regulations that may impact your students. For example, in order to be eligible for licensure in the State of Florida for massage therapy, there are some criminal background issues that may prevent licensure into the profession. Having up to date information on statutes that prohibit licensure and providing the correct contact information for that prospective student. Understanding policies and procedures that can affect a student's ability to attend, such as attendance. These are all great resources that can be added to a notebook, and updated frequently to keep everyone on task.

Some of the therms we use here are:

Orientation
Enrollment Agreement
Tuition
Campus Tours

In fact, students are supposed to have a copy of the catalog prior to signing the enrollment agreement. And, signing the enrollment agreement is the student's aknowledgement that they have read the document and understand its contents. This is very important.
