I'm a first time admission rep and my institution have employee modules we have to complete prior to getting our certification, I had learn a lot of new inf that you are going over.
Tony,
Knowing the regulations assists you in understanding your own school policies. They must work in tandem.

Ada,
That is awesome! Continue to take training seriously to optimize performance with new knowledge.
Patty Aronoff
Alina,
Exactly! Check out the state school association website as well.

I'm familiar with our institutional P&P, so this module has helped me better understand Florida's regulations a bit better. Through reading the regulations, I'll be more equipped and be able to transfer that knowledge to others.
Learning is a constant at our institution. The Admissions staff trains on policies & procedures every 10-weeks. Staff In-House Continuing Education is performed 3 times a year. We have general staff & Faculty meeting twice a year.
All this allows all of us to have a "Free Flow" if information from each department staff and Faculity.
I have been utilizing the C.I.E. website and D.O.E. in reading and printing statutes, rules and regulations. We also discuss this topic with frequency for it is always updated and our representatives need to be readily prepared.
Devin ,
Having the ability to discuss what you have read is very important in the learning process. As you discuss, try discussing "what if" situations to further enhance your learning.
Patty Aronoff
Reading and discussing is a good way to learn, but also having them in my resource notebook to reference when needed is helpful!
milay,
Add to your list of website the state school association, FAPSC. Also look to sites relative to your program offerings.
Patty Aronoff
Jennifer,
Good deal! The more we check he more confident we are in ensuring we have the most current information.
Patty Aronoff
I learn the rules and regulations by browsing different websites such as the CIE website and FL DOE website as well as other websites available for the help and development of Admisions Representatives and agents
We have two people who regularly check the web in order to see any updates and have the web pages saved as favorites.
Stephanie,
Checklists are an excellent tool for compliance. Checklists should replicate processes to provide a guide to the user. Checklists are also a way for someone auditing the file to understand your process.
Patty Aronoff
Donard,
Absolutely! Since rule changes can happen anytime throughout the year, check their website at least once a month.
Patty Aronoff
Lisa,
Check out their newsletters for quick guides to additional information and learning opportunities.

We have purchased an accredited school & through doing so are preparing to undergo an audit. Reading through the Department of Education and the Commission for Independent Education and my Reaource Notebook have been to most helpful with ensuring we are under compliance.
We have formatted checklists to ensure all requirements are being met with new enrollments as well as for existing student files. Creating the checklists gave us a very thorough understanding of the Rules & Regulations and for the sections which aren't commited to memory, a very good understanding of where exactly to locate them as needed.
From the department of education site and the florida DOE web site.
looking online at the commission of indepedent education and the dept. of education website
Arilton,
Check their website at least once a month for updates. Rule changes can occur throughout the year.
