Moira,
We must stay up-to-date in order to remain compliant. If not current, we could innocently mislead which is potentially noncompliant.

gerard,
The rules and regs should be available upon request. The catalog contains the information the student needs in a format that also provides the contact information for the Commission.

Jonathan,
Excellent! You are off to a great start.

I have created a binder with tabs, for all the related information, Florida Statures and Codes, an enrollment agreement and school catalog. The Code of Conduct from our Accreditation agency.
Most definitely give a copy of the rules and regulations of the school because this always comes up during their enrollment time.
I am organizing all of the paperwork in a 3 ring binder so I have easy access to it.
The organizational piece was a strength that I brought to the position. With a background in operations I tried to put together a process for all our admissions interactions with a process map. Then every folder must include a checklist that starts with the representative. Upon completion of the enrollment the representative reviews the paperwork and signs of on the checklist. They then submitt it to our admissions coordinator, myself, and then final sign off from the school official. Prior to the student sitting in class we review the package in its entirety again and ensure that admissions is ready to pass the student onto the education department. The admissions coordinator is responsible for updating forms by our company on a daily basis to ensure we have the most up to date information. As a team we review and train approx. once a month on the process to ensure we are accurate and up to date on any policy changes.

SInce this is vital to the process and mistakes cannot be made. I will organize into step by step kits to ensure accuracy.
It's a lot of paperwork to keep straight, but keeping everythng in the notebook looks like the best way to keep it all together.
I look forward to compiling further governmental and institutional related information, employment statistics/opportunities, and news articles to give my manual more depth. It's always great to stay up-to-date!
Probably by order of importance. ie. what I would use first, second etc. I also think a check list should be used for all admissions. This would help insure that everything was done (completed)that needed to be done.
The rules regulations and statutes are kept in a seperate folder for my review, until I become totally familiar with them.
Would it be a good idea to give students copies of the rules & regs and have them acknowldge that they received it along with copies of the contract and catalogue?
I am printing out the pages as requested and also anything else I find helpful and binding them together in a folder labeling specific sections with tabs to access them more easily when needed. Also being sure to highlight things that I may not have known previously so that I can remember them quicker. It's a great idea!
Mirella,
The notebook should be of your own creation. You will learn by putting it together and you will remember important links easily. Make it your own and have it work for you.

Edward,
Very good point about backing up information. Many times we wish we had a back up plan.
Patty Aronoff
Pamela ,
Excellent start! Make the notebook your own beyond the basics by adding important reference material.

ROSANGELA,
Getting out from behind the desk and visiting with staff and students will give you more institutional awareness and product knowledge. Sitting in on classes is fun!
Patty Aronoff
Denise,
We love checklists! They are a great tool in so many ways.
