At the extension campus that I work at we offer three programs Workforce Education and Development, Health Care Management and Electronic Management. The students that are involved in the programs usually work in the fields that they are studying or they are making a new transition into Management or Education. The jobs that the students would be interested in are in the fields that they are employed in and have the knowledge of availability.
Our school offers a court reporting program. I have sat in with instructors (who are court reporters)who have given me an overview of the industry. I have read many career publications about the industry and how and where reporters
work. I also have completed a couple of modules to learn how the theory is taught . Just enough to understand the basic machine shorthand so I can explain it to potential students.
40hr Florida Bartending Course. I learn about the jobs avaiable as having 20 years of on the job experience. I visit establishments and understand what Industry managers and owners are looking for in new hires.

Externships are part of the program where students get out in the field and perform those duties they have been studying about. It is even better when you have an externship that hires you!

Generally, when students are placed on their externships this is what they will be doing in the real world.
I have learned what programs that the campus I am employed at are. There are three different types of Associate Degrees. One in Nursing, another in Electrical Engeneering, and then Network System Administration. I have met some of the department chairs from each program and I plan on sitting down with each one of them to gain their knowledge and perspective of each program.

We have three different programs offered at our school, Fashion, Production, and Skincare. I have spent a lot of time speaking with the School Director, as well as the Director of Student Services and Career Placement to find out about the jobs students train for. I have also gone through the Fashion Program as a student and have learned about the jobs that way.
Our institute has 3 programs,
