Francesca,
Meetings should be fun and exciting. Participation of all involved is important to be successful.

Patty Aronoff

Lissette,

I would agree. Having a solid team that works for the same mission is key. When staff works against that goal, they essentially take away from the school's focus and success.

Patty Aronoff

Claire,

Congratulations! You have a great plan to keep current and compliant.

Patty Aronoff

JEAN,
Start with your catalog. This will give you the information you need about your school. The rules and laws tell you about the regulatory requirements. Your position description should tell you about your responsibilities.

Keith,
Meetings that are productive are the most anticipated by staff. We all want effective meetings that move us forward as a school.

We belong to a Worldwide private owned company who manages the long range planning and global marketing for the organization while the officers, managers and staff at each branch Office conduct the day-to-day business activities that support the programs and provide services to its members. The Members influence corporate decisions by sharing their opinions through advisory boards, member forums and responding to surveys sent out by the organization worldwide or the offices. we also receive monthly visits from the representatives. I also feel our organization is open to its members opnion.

There are staff meetings for the entire campus and there will always be meeting for training as well as meeting with the Director and the Director of Recruitment to assess.

We attend "Things to Know" meetings on a bi-weekly basis with our leaders to be in the know of the latest updates on compliance and regulations.

We attend weekly meetings that happen on fridays for about an hour and a half. During these meetings our DOA addresses areas of opportunity. We'll role play, get feedback, received additional training, etc. We'll also do fun things as well like play Admissions Jeopardy which also acts as a training tool. We also have bi-weekly training which all the campuses participate in and is lead by the National Director of Admissions. Here we will also have training and we can get to hear input from the different campuses.

We intend to have weekly staff meetings. Primarily to provide an atmosphere where issues, problems, ideas have an avenue to be discussed. In my professional experience I find that frequent meetings can be a great way to solidify the uniformity of your team and thereby create a solid work environment that everyone benefits from.

I attend all admission meeting, and some other department meeting, this way I am updated with all the happenings on Campus, and with all the memos that are sent though interoffice mail

Where do I go to learn more about your job, admissions policies, regulatory requirements, and your institution?

Yes, the meetings do get bogged down with many items that do not pertain to the group as a whole. Many times we will discuss great ideas but at the end we all wonder who is going to implement those ideas.

Parish,
Commission meetings bring the schools and the state all in one room. It is a great opportunity to personally meet with your program specialist and meet other schools.

Patty Aronoff

Keith,

I think sometimes we have meetings just to decide when to have another meeting! Meetings should be productive in advancing knowledge and understanding.

Patty Aronoff

Shane,

Meetings are a very important part of a learning environment. It is a time to share experiences and ask questions.

Patty Aronoff

sang,
Good advice! Having the ability to watch the meeting on the web saves you time, money and travel.

The Directors and Instructor attend the commission meetings once a year. Is it a great place to meet and greet other staff members from other institutions and share ideas.

The information learned at the commission meeting is then shared with the other administrative staff as need.

Since I am pretty new in my position, I have plans to attend all departmental meetings including admissions, programmatic meetings, various committee meetings and external meetings related to rules/regs for institution and program.

There is a weekly staff meeting that goes over most agenda items for each department. Once every two weeks there is an admissions meeting that goes through some marketing, policies and other requirements of the department. Always trying to find the balance of how many meetings to be involved in. :)
