Maria ,
Depends upon your school. Some find daily meetings work, others have meetings less often.
Patty Aronoff
Michael,
Ask questions! It is the best way for old and new to learn.
Patty Aronoff
I go to Institution's Internal meetings, local meetings related to our institution, seminars which are offered by educational associations and industry meetings thru the chamber of Commerce, Business Development groups, and others.
I am not only the admissions director, but I am also the executive director of our agency. I meet with the faculty of the program twice a month to discuss things pertaining to the courses, including admission policies, and regulatory requirements.
How oftern should one attend meetings? I try to attens at least once a week. Should I be attending more?
I am a new hire so I have attended employee training that review many of the regulations of each state. Also taking courses like this is very helpful and informative.
Elaine,
Excellent! You have an effective process in starting the student off to their first day of class. It is so important for them to have this information.
Patty Aronoff
Yes. I print and bind the catalog and have a sign off sheet to ensure that the student has read and understood the contents of the catalog. The enrollment agreement is also signed at registration. The student orientation is where I review the important aspects of the catalog such as cancellations, tardy, class hours, contact with admininstration etc.
Albert,
Good news! Keep that communication link going to keep current.
Patty Aronoff
Elaine,
Catalogs along with the enrollment agreement constitute the contract with the student.
Patty Aronoff
Dominique,
Commission meetings are informative as you see how the Commission applies the statutes and rules.
Patty Aronoff
Guy,
They are excellent communication resources. Meetings are an opportunity to learn and share.

Elizabeth,
Being a VA school, you have additional requirements for comp, iance. The State Approving Agency with the Florida Department of Education is your resource for VA benefits.
Patty Aronoff
Magda,
Meetings are very important in admissions to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Patty Aronoff
Mariana,
Yes, the webcast of the Commission meeting is available through their website. Great way to attend the meeting without travel!
Patty Aronoff
I have a meeting weekly with my director as well as monthly meetings with my DM.
I am responsible for coordinating staff meetings for the school. The regulatoery requirements from the Commission for Independent Education have us take a close look at the Catalog and how we can make sure the changes we have made in our institiution are in line with the Commission.
I find commission meetings to be a resourceful tool to learn more about policies and procedural requirements. We also conduct in-house monthly meeting to keep folks abreast to the constant changes.
All hands down meetings are valuable sources of information. Some institutions hold them every quarter to inform their personnel about new rules and regulation, strategic plan, and the health of the institution.
We have Monday morning meetings with our Chiefs. We cover many issues including current and new courses being offered. This keeps us on top of our curriculum. As well, we discuss current and future projects for our staff. We also meet during budget preparation time to discuss any possibl changes to the courses fees and tuition. Our Chiefs attend audits of the school and review items with our staff. We attend local VA training courses and have attended the annual workshops to stay on top of the benefits and programs they offer.
