I rate my knowledge as above average. Althought i am a stickler for details and keep up with all changes.
I would say that I have decent knowledge of my institutions course offerings, student services and procedures. The college that I work for provided excellent training.
I would rate my knowledge about my institution as being fairly well i have worked in admissions and student services at other universities and it is similar in most ways and not. Most university have different policies but the work ethic and teamwork concepts are the same. I continue to go home and study to become very knowledgable on this institution and i am a firm believer in more you do it the more you will master the system. But things change every week at most institutions so its important to keep pace with updates that is your responsibility as a represenative at the university.
Right now, I'd say my knowledge about my institution is only intermediate, just because there is so much information. I'm learning every day and working hard to ensure that I have an expert level of knowledge as soon as possible. I am studying the course catalog and using the resource notebook.
Extremely good. We have to take a test quarterly on topics such as: compliance, product knowledge and observations. Currently I'm in the upper third of my peers with a 96%.
I am a farely new employee to the company but i would rate my knowledge as constant. I believe that their is a constant flow in changes in program information and we want to stay upbeat to it all. I know that knowledge is a continuous cycle and i will never know everything so although i wont say that im an expert i will say i am always searching and finding ways to stay current on all information so i can continue to update my students and prospective students.
Very high.
It can never be to high. You need to spend as much time as possible getting to know other departments so you can better prepare students for what they will encounter.
I am part of an institution that keeps me informed on changes and updates weekly, sometimes daily. It is refreshing.
I rate my knowledge of my institution highly. It is an ongoing process and must be a proactive approach. Since I am involved with assisting to make productive changes, I am focused on maintaining a high level of understanding with most aspects of the school.
I've only been here a couple weeks but I would say I have a lot of knowledge about my institution so far. They have given a lot of information and I've been able to study on my own outside of work as well.
As a recent hire, I have made it a focus to learn as much about the campus, programs, instructors, services offered as I can.
I am always asking questions and looking things up.
You can never learn too much!!
I agree Angela. I typically do "road shows" with the leaders and employees of different departments so that they fully understand my role and responsibilities.
I rate my knowledge very high because I participate in meetings with leaders from every department within my school (Adacemics, Career Services, Student Services, Housing, etc.). I do so because, as agents, we are the face of our school - it is important to assist a potential student at the point of contact with enough information on our school (curriculum, features/benefits, etc.) so that potential student can make an informed decision on their school of choice.
Greetings,
I rate my knowledge very high. I am very active in all my school's departments (Career Services, Academics, Student Services, and Admissions - of course). As an agent, we are the face of the school in which we represent; it is important to be as knowlegeable as to as many services that our schools offers in order to assist a potential student in his/her decision to attend school with us.
This section had some great suggestions about developing you own perspective so that you can better relate to the prospective student. By throughly understanding what your institution has to offer, you have a better chance of helping them to see the opportunity for a brighter future.
I am a recent hire, but I am very impressed with the amount of training that my institution provides and expects. Very intense internal training program. Firmly believe that training and knowledge is a "forever" thing, and to have success and provide your students with only the best info possible will require continued training.
I researched my institution in as much detail as possible before coming here (including both positive and negative reviews found online) to make sure that I knew what I was getting myself into, so to speak. After I began working here, I have had the opportunity to attend weekly team meetings discussing student services, admissions team meetings, and regular conversations with Directors of Financial Aid, Student Services, Admissions, and the Registrar. This high-touch interaction and research-focused methodology has helped be tremendously in becoming a better adviser on our services and programs.
As a new representative in admissions, I of course am not at an expert level just yet. However, I am confident I have the opportunity to get there. I have been impressed with the structure here to make available to me all the information I need to become a competent agent and look forward to my contiued development and the opportunity to work with prospective students when my certification is complete.
As for right now, I am very confident about my knowledge in regards to my institution. I am new to the position but I feel like I have learned a great deal of useful information and I can't wait to finish training and start applying it to my everday duties!
I have a great deal of knowledge about some of the programs and about most of the support services. The programs that I am not sure of I will need to work with instructors to improve my knowledge.
