Truly understanding the different aspects of student life, career services, things that the students encounter, their struggles, biggest complaints, and product knowledge in each of the different areas. The more we know as agents the better we are to answer questions, completely back the mission, and build our passion for the students.
I feel that actually taking a course that is offered in the program is always helpful in discussing expectations in the classroom.
I would like training on creating a comprehensive checklist to ensure all required topics pertaining to enrollment are discussed with potential students.
I'm new to the school. It appears that we do have adequate training. Everyone is very helpful also. You can never have too much training.
State Board rule changes/updates would be welcome training topics.
Product knowledge is critical, so ongoing training and professional development is a great way for agents to advice with confidence.
I feel that we have alot of valuable training at the school that I work for. Also, all of our Department heads have an open door policy.
Just getting a complete understanding of what every department does on campus and the reasons for why they do what they do. Knowing this information makes your job easier and it makes selling the school easier because you know why other people are doing what they are doing when they are helping your student out.
As a new hire at my institution, I'm looking forward to meeting the chairs of other departments soon. I'm also excited to observe more interviews by experienced agents. Shadowing their best practices is extremely helpful.
I would like to continue more in-depth knowledge on the hiring requirements of potential employers as it pertains to our training curriculum.
Knoledge of each program offered at your school, so you can present it to customers.
The school I work for has us complete a test on each department where we meet with each department head and ask any questions that we have about the program. I've experienced that personal research prior to meeting with the department head not only enhances the meeting, but it helps to make the information personal for me.
Definately sitting in an observing classes.
I would benefit by knowing the lessons learned from others. Situational training such as, this term, or this statement is misleading and can not be used in the Admissions Interview. I treat people the way I want to be treated. If you do that you can not go wrong.
Learning more information about the courses by sitting in on the classes and how the instructors interact with the student on a regular basis. Also learning more about the Progress reports.
I think the more training the better! Maybe having some more time to spend with financial aid, student services, heads of each program, etc. would be helpful because the more knowledge you have as a rep makes it easier to answer questions of students.
Full knowledge of each program is vital!
The other areas of the recruiting/admissions process that I feel would be of interest to me as future training opportunities are just everything in general staying up-to-date or at least hard copy documents to explain changes that are occuring.
I believe that getting a better understanding of the education department and observing the various classes that the students we recruite partake in is very essential. It would give the admissions reps a better understanding of the course curriculums which in turn would help to enhance the admissions representatives performance and success.
the most imoportant thing for me is to make sure that I understand the different department and their roles in the admmisions process. I have to make sure that I reach out to those departments and ask for more information.
I agree. Understanding all aspects of the student experience and how all departments interact with the student would be very helpful.
