Having a well rounded rep helps immensely.Knowing a little about alot helps "break-the-ice"with prospective students.

There is never enough time to do everything you want to do, but one thing we've instituted is periodic overview presentations by the Academic Directors to get a sense of what new techniques and subjects are being taught, new industry equipement/software, "State of the Industry" review (where the field is, and where it's headed) to keep us up to date on the various programs. We don't often get time to audit a class etc., but it is nonetheless critical to know what's going on in each of the programs that we recruit for.

It would be great to participate in more meetings outside of our departments.

Getting more information about the department of education

I think the more training the better. I think they should start out each morning role playing and get to expereince different approaches on how each person helps students.

We haven't implemented these yet. I think they would be very helpful. We can get too complacent in our daily duties. We aren't going to be effective if we aren't current on new regulations, etc.

I agree, and this needs to be ongoing. There are changes, from time to time, within a department. It is important to know the "chain" and how each department impacts the other.

making sure that the data that is used to train and having a QUALIFIED TRAINER is a must as well

addtional trainging is good because things are changing daily agents should be aware

I believe a focus on what areas reps are having the most trouble staying compliant in would be the most beneficial for future training sessions.

The area that I would like to train more on and learn more about is how I can make a contribution to retention. It is upsetting when a student drops out of school for whatever reason - because it has a huge impact on the student. Being better at keeping them in touch with their resources, and keeping motivated and focused are things that I would like to be better at.

I Agree that Understanding the ins and outs of each department and how they help the student is important

Cross training would be nice. Not neccasarily to complete the task on take on ththe other departments duties, but to become more aware of the requirements and processes that task has.

i have been trying to institute this at our school as well. We do offer a prep course free of charge to all new students as a requirement to sit in class but we also allow reps to take the same course. It only takes a couple hours to complete which is why I think it is really important for reps to take a class or persue a degree so they understand the process the student goes through to get registered and how exactly the classes are completed.

I think it is important for a rep to understand the entire process of enrollment. Since reps should not be involved in the FA process, they still should know what the students will be going through in case a problem arises. This way, they can direct the student to the appropriate party for additional information or work with their manager to find a solution. They should also understand the registrar function because transferring credits is usually a priority for all students and reps need to understand how to work within the policies set by their school, acceditting body and licensing bodies.

I think all schools should have some sort of career services in their school

I feel that admissions should be in communication with every department and that they should work together as a team. Other departments should have an understanding of the admissions process and the role of an admissions rep and admissions reps should have an understanding of all other departments. It's in the student's best interest for each department to be in communication with one another and have an understanding of each others' roles.

at our campus we have recently had admissions reps sit in on classes its all done randomly so we get a true feel of what a day in class is like in each one of our programs. I think it really helps in educating our students on what a typical day will be.

I believe it would be benificial for all departments to understand the roles of eachother departments so we can better understand the roles and thus be more beneficial for the student as well.

Understanding the role of other departments is beneficial in promoting your college. We work as a cohesive unit, and students are appreciative of that.
