Good time, well spent...

This was a decent presentation.  All though, I feel like it is more common knowledge.  I realize that a lot of managers may have a job that they think they earned, it might have more to do with how they presented themselves.

Stop ,Breathe,Reflect and Choose

Works for me.

Tech Talent South

I learned that the most effective way to build a community at work is to be open and transparent. This means opening the floor to ideas from your employees, and not taking credit for those ideas. Omitting any kind of data is unethical, and making sure that set an example by my actions.

Stress Management

I felt this was a really good course. I have a difficult time with maintaining my stress level and I feel like this course gave me a few pointers on how to improve this issue. This can be practiced not only in the workplace but outside as well. A lot of times I'm faced with personal issues that cause stress which sometimes is brought with me to work. I now feel I can manage this a little better with the information that was provided.

love it

These are great learning tools we should have them for students.

Good tutorial

This was actually a good tutorial. It reminded me of what I already knew but it refreshed some perspective on the interaction between staff and supervisor.

prevent burn out

When you are feeling burn out don't ignore it. It will only hinder your productivity and does not help anyone. Best way is to take a deep breath, take a break. Get away from the routine, talk to someone, excercise and do something you can control and put aside what you can't control. If all else fails, plan to change, don't quit, change careers for the better.

time management

Time management can be a key factor in many large scale situations. I have learned a lot from these and now understand why my trainor/mentor/supervisor/coach/role model guides me this was. She must have taken this course.

humor always wins

I fell that my strength can sometimes be my weakness, however the positives certainly outweigh the negatives. I laugh, no matter what im going through i still have a great sense of humor. I feel that we can either laugh or cry and i choose to laugh. Regardless of what the siyuation is, a good laugh serves as a sort of thermostat reset. It leaves you at a point that you are able to approach the issue from a fresh angle, as opposed to being stuck in a state of rage or confusion that keeps your mind fogged  that cant… >>>

Self-Assessment

This was informative and a reality check in looking at real-life examples and comparing/contrasting to my professional life.

I think its important to re-assess periodically so that we are performing the way we intend to perform and not just making it through the daily schedule.

In comparison, I found that I do really well in my personal life but sometimes struggle with meeting/following through with all the demands in my teaching/professional life.

Hard to face, easy to conquer

Because of my medical background as a physician, I know how damaging stress is to the body. My "magic" prescription is to practice both physical & spiritual excercises. We know a lot about how physical excercising is renewing the health of the cells & getting rid of the free radicles that damage even healthy cells. Spiritual excercise makes the mind, or the "nous", to overflow with positive thoughts that help to make right decisions.

Great topic

It is ok to learn and change thanks

Goals

Reevaluating goals is essential for preparation for new goals.

Lead by Example

Whenever possible, make the chnage before asking your supervisees to do so.

Best Practice

All staff  need this information. It was very informative.

Understanding you boss

Excellent discussion I agree with the writers. For us to be effective employees, we have got to understand, and know what's expected from us. We have to know what our boss expect, and need. If they (our bosses) are reluctant or indecisive with informing us about their expectations, then I agree  with the lesson plan seek out infromation from coworkers, who may have been working with this boss. This will provide us with some points of reference for meeting our boss's expectations.

If you Knew Who You Were You Could Be Who You Are

I liked this quote because we should realize our strengths and weaknesses to be better leaders and employees

Awesome!

Great CEU.

Managing Stress

Take one day at time. Work on what you can change and let someone else take care of what is out of your control.

Stess

Taking care of the body helps reduce the effects of stress.
