Reasons for Studnet Monitoring

We have to pay attention to students from the time to start the class lecture until the end..that way we prevent them from major problems..by helping them to understand what we lucture..and give them examples from our own experiances to catching their eyes and be interested to the subject.

CATs are good

I think that CATs are a great teaching aid to assist in the learning process. Every little bit counts, and breaking up the class format is helpful in stimulating students minds.

Questions can be intimidating

Sometimes questions, both from the receiving end and the asking end, can be intimidating. encourage students to feel comfortable coming and asking questions, but also don't feel as though you have to make up an answer if a student asks you something you don't firmly know the answer to. i agree with the informational policy of admitting you dont know the answer, but will research and find out.

Visual Learning!

I, myself, am definitely a visual learner. I found that in class students having some trouble with conversions could benefit from the visual breakdown that I have used along the way to help me in my studies. I presented the mathematical content, followed by the visual, as well as some hands on demos and it seemed effective in touching base with the class on the whole.

The Solid Citizens

This concept really made me think, to often (especially in an accelerated program); the "B" Players do just go along with the flow. The Star performers are being validated with good performance on testing,etc. The at-risk students are getting extra attention with tutoring or special help, but the mainstream players receive no special recognition or attention. Any creative ideas on how to acknowledge the performances of average students?

Learning styles

I have found that dealing with older students often becomes a problem due to knowledge lack of current technology, being away from an educational environment, and current class pace. Often I will peer younger students with older students to insure that the knowledge give will be reinforced from another person's perspective so older students will understand better.

Visual Learning

In class just the other day, I noticed that some students were having trouble understanding a topic we were covering. I realized that I could re-format the material and present it in a visual way in order to really show them two different methods of putting it all together. I found this to be really helpful, and will adjust other lessons accordingly in the future.

True and false is the worst format in my opinion for adult learners. It does not challenge or allow students to use the knowledge they have recieved in the corse. I feel it also leads them to question the importance of such knowledge
