Effective Instructions

For the nontraditional students, it is important for the learning objectives to be concrete and easily understandable. Nontraditional students often have barriers that influences their ability to attend class and comprehend information that is being taught. From this course, I have learned that it is necessary to identify the types of students that I will have within the classroom; additionally, I need to make sure that the methods of delivery for the information in conducive to the learning needs of my students. There are a variety of factors, advantages, and disadvantages to having a flipped classroom. I have read about this in the past and was anxious to implement it in my classes. The big problem I face is at our school there are NO RESOURCES for us to do the video taping of our lectures, no clickers. When a faculty tried to do an online quiz for her students she was told it couldn't be controlled so she shouldn't do it.

Do students make an instructor?

Does the attitude and quality of the students which you are teaching form you into the instructor you are today?

How do you handle students who are perpetually late with their work

It is diffcult to verify the legitimacy of their reasons or excuses without the benefit of body language and tone of voice.  Online documentation can be forged easily.  It is time consuming the verify the documents if the student is from another state or another country,

Evaluating Student Participation

Can  you really rely on students to evaluate their own and other students participation.  I have seen non-contributing students take credit for stuff they did not do and group leaders willing to share credit where it has not been earned.
