Jill, I totally agree with your advice.  I feel it is important for all departments to understand the "big picture" of things.  Compliance affects us all and it is just as critical for academics to follow guidelines and regulations as it is for admissions.  There are factors in academics that it would be beneficial for admissions to understand just as admissions guidelines are beneficial for Academics and Financial Aid to understand.  We are all a team and we need to understand what helps us all to work effectively.
