The online learning environment is importnt to the students because they rely on the instructor as a main source to update the course information, and give feedback. 

To be a good online instructor you must be able to commuinicate with students in an online manner. You must set boundaries with your time to avoid getting overwhelmed.

Not only is it important for online instructors to have good time management skills. It is important that they teach their students the importance of time management also. 

Changing the way a student learns can motivate them. Having an active learning environment with motivational engagement will allow the student to stay focused and want to actually larn what is being taught. Also feedback is very important throughout the entire learning process. Another very important thing I learned is to allow the students to discuss subject amongst eachother without hand holding but an occassional encouraging word to let them know they are doing well. 

The statement by Mr. Bernie Dodge “thinking required while attending a lecture is low level comprehension that goes from the ear to the writing hand and then leaves the mind untouched.” was a very reflective saying. It makes you wonder how much a student is actually learning from lectures?

Time management can be a challenge for many online students. This has proven to be true in my current role. 

The information in this section somewhat mimics the techniques we use in my organization. I have found most of these techniques are very effective expecially video feedback and visual communication. 

Although the instructor is there to teach, they can also be seen as an educational coach. 

Being able to adhere to the 7 principles of teaching will help aid in the success of the student.

Although students state they feel comfortable with technology always check to make sure which online technology they are referring to.
