I tend to believe that the more achievements and success we have in life, the higher our EQ becomes? Largely due to our self-esteem and confidence in ourself because we are inherently socially conscious? This is why I also find that physical fitness can also lend an edge because it drastically effects our self-image, and the more healthy your self image, the higher you EQ... Any thoughts?

I am a strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer and in my opinion there is no better way to manage stress than exercise and "meditation"---whatever meditation is to you, be it Church, books, journaling, praying, silence etc. These two things combined make you literally feel better physically, emotionally, and spiritually due to the physiological and mental benefits of exertion and mental channeling on the right things that matter in life. Sweat is literally stress leaving my body and I couldn't do what I do without yoga, pilates, boxing, basketball, weights, cardio etc. There is a euphoria of calmness, comfort,… >>>

But I am actually a perfectionist, and I even read the instructions of a simple tool, so… >>>

I have an office that is small, and I share with 3 other instructors! We have cabinets and drawers to try to keep our office supplies, papers, and books out of immediate sight in effort to keep from looking cluttered. However, we still feel like our office is overstocked, so we are looking for ideas to better utilize a small space? Perception is critical in the eyes of our supervisors and students, so any suggestions would help! Chip

Often times, colleagues take it the wrong way when you do not get back with them right away. I feel there is an importance of communicating your reason for delaying your response to them. Is there a better way to address colleagues who want your immediate response? Chip
I have often wondered if small gifts or even food/candy could come across as condescending or insulting to the adult learner? My contention is that if we use these type of motivators, present it light heartedly, perhaps by saying "let's take a break and have some fun with food!" What do you guys think? I also wonder if what it says about a student if they are not intrinsically motivated? It seems to me that more successful students are intrinsically motivated? Chip
