Jeffrey, Checks and balances are a great way to ensure that students and/or parents information is accurate. However, if you collect different documents with the same information make sure you do not miss any conflicting information provided by the student or parent. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers

Jeffrey, I agree the online option is easier and faster; however, there may be some students who struggle with the process. As long as you have a mechanism for those students to receive assistance when needed the online process is a great method to use. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
Elizabeth, Completely understand your comments since you are not participating in TIV funding, yet. My best advice to you at this time is to evaluate the type of reporting that exist and as you move forward look for methods to incorporate the requirements of FSA reporting within your current system. Best wishes in your pursuit of participation. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
Elizabeth, Based on your comments it sounds as if your team has a been to increase efficiency in the Business Office which should increase student satisfaction/experience and productive for the college team. It is important to evaluate you processes and look for areas of improvement. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
Elizabeth, You have a great approach by offering exceptional service. This approach will be beneficial as you enter the area of financial aid. If your students already recognize the service aspect it should not be difficult to add timely and accurately processing. It has always been my opinion that these three characteristics go-hand-in-hand to develop the best experience for students and parents. Best wishes as you complete the process to participate in Federal Student Aid Programs. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
Joseph, Interesting point of view and I think most participants agreed that all three aspects were important. Many participants agreed with you that service was the key to making a lasting impression with students and/or parents. However, timely and accurate processing are essential to quality services. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
Do you plan to continue to collect a Verification Worksheet or do you plan to go to individual worksheets based on the Verification Categories V-1 through V-5? Is there a compelling reason to collect the Verification Worksheet in your opinion?
Rosezza, Dealing with situations that require third-party documentation can be very difficult due to the sad situations. It is difficult for students to share the full story of these situations which really places you in a difficult situation of not being able to move forward with aid. It is very important to remain supportive and provide suggestions on how to document. If you continue to provide suggestions the student may think of someone that is aware of the situation. Also, it will depend on how strenous your requirements are for third-party statemnts. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
Rosezza, Selective Service can be a long and ardous process. It is difficult to be dependent on other agencies to timely perform task. If there is a way to build a relationship with someone at your Selective Service Office that might assist you on the ones that are more difficult to resolve. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
Rosezza, After spending my learning years in a college and going to large student populations I understand your comment of missing the one on one approach. That one on one contact with the students and/or parents is a great experience and allows you to build trust with your students. I encourage you to find a way to periodically spend some one on one time with your students, even if it is going to the breakroom/student lounge once a week. You really learn so much about that the students' experience in those one on one conversations. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers
