I have been in the admissions areana for about 9 years now and I first I use to feel the same way you did. Yes there are schools out there that are shady and do practice deceiftul ways. Most of those however, if the student were to check them out, are not fully accredited and do not have a govern board that comes over watches over their practices.

It is up to the student to do the homework to find out all they can about their school. Review reports on the statistical of the graduation to hiring ratio. etc.

In Admissions Again

I have been in the educational field working environment since 1984. I started in Accounting and worked my way into the last postion there I held was Junior Accountant. I received an AS/CIS back in 1989. At that time we started coming up on the computer system, one department at a time. I started writing detailed instructions of how each field and instructions for each screen for the departments of the college. It was fun to get to know a little about each department. Staying up to date on compliance

I read up on our organizations newsletters. ACICS, FAFSA, DOE, SEVIS and several other oraniztions. Right now the federal government are making so many new laws and changes to college with title 4 loans that we are having to do a complete over haul of every area in every department in the College. ACICS is adopting and implement major changes in the way course work is now determined and the number of class hours, study hours it takes to make up the credit hour. We have to look at students standards of progress to see if they are on financial… >>>

What I know about my Organization

I knew the founding official. I am on the board of directors. I have been here for 34 years now and have worked almost in every area there is. I understand the daily, monthly and yearly operations. I have dealt with students as a Dean's Assistant and I am no in admissions assisting prospective students in their choice of program study. I have been assistant to both the corporte and President of the college. I have been the accountant. I have a well rounded knowledge of how this non for profit business works.
