I always go over the syllabus the first class period to let the students know the course requirement, rules and grading scale. It also gives the student a chance to ask questions about the course. Students can also refer back to the syllabus when they have concerns.

Mnemonics

Mnemonics is very important in the learning process because it gives ways in which we can use cues to help retain information since we all learn differently. Some of the ways that was mentioned in the module were acronyms, which is a combinations of letters in which each letter is cue to help remember information. Acrostic is a sentence in which the first of each word is a cue to the idea to help with remembering information. Reviewing is very important in the learning process because it helps the student retain, understand and answer questions on material. Reviewing is a effective learning tool and can be implemented in many different ways. Reviewing in an instructional strategy and should be used in the classrooms to help with retaining and learning information.

I think that it is important to use learning preferences which help students with cognitive, emotional, and motivational factors. Because all students so not learn the same so as instructors we must be able to reach our students. Therefore it is imperative that we use different teaching methods.

Short and long term memory

I think that it is very important to use our short term memory, long term memory and working memory in our learning process. I know that we interact or instruct alot of older students who has been out of the learning enviroment for years and sometimes they feel alittle challenged or intimidated. As instructors we must encourage them to focus and use what they have to help with their educational goals.

I think that it is important to do backgroud checks on employees not only before hiring but I think that they should be done peroidially to ensure that employee are what and who they say they are. This is important to make sure are our campus is safe because their are some sick and crazy people in this world.
