Students need and deserve to know how they are doing with course work. Continuous feedback from the instructor can keep a student motivated and on track.

Hi Patti:
Great idea. A work-in-progress score sheet! This could possibly illuminate to a student where their weaker arteas are at a glance.

Hi Kimberly:
Yeah, when students know where they're at, it may give them an opportunity to improve if they're at the lower limits. As you've stated, I find too students are often willing to shgare important things going on in the backside of their lives, and maybe I can assist them in other ways - even if it's just advice.

Hi Kimberly:
A theme I like to promote too is the benefit of the opportunity for the student and instructor to have some 1-on-1 time. Relationship building. It's a dividend that'll pay off profits in later days for sure!

So students will have an idea on how they are doing in class and if they explore other resources such as tutoring. I create a sheet for them to fill out on what they have scored on each test, quiz, project, etc. This way, they have the worksheet handy and can assess how they are doing in class at any time.

Hi Barry:

The students that have come through my classes like the fact that I always keep them in the loop where their progress is concerned. I discuss their grades with them on an individual basis, privately. They tend to open up about their concerns and generally will ask questions about how to improve if there is a need to do so.

I think it is important because it helps them to understand where they stand. If they are doing well, they know that their study methods and habits are effective. If they are not doing so well, it shows them that they have a need for improvement.

Hi Anthony:
I think any time we can make the opportunity to take time and relate to the student on a 1-on-1 basis is going to build a better class environment. Sharing grades is a great tool to convey your willingness to help the student do well, make improvements, and perhaps achieve a better grade. The student will appreciate your interest and feel you have their success prioritized.

Hi Christine:
Sure. We want to see improvement, therefore the student has to know where there is room for improvement and how to achieve it. THis is a great opportunity to discuss grades 1-on-1, which can improve the relationship building process.

Hi Cara:
I have found many students will want to improve if tey know where they stand in a class, especially if it's early in the class session so that there is still time to make improvements. Also, often gives the instructor an opportunity to connect with their students 1-on-1.

I believe that if a student as a ral time understanding of the grade in the class, they stive harder to imporve or maintain their standing, which leads to a beffet educational outcome for themselves.

Iit is inportant to be fair and honest with the students at all times with their grades.

So, the students will know where they stand in the class. This way they are not shocked by a final grade in the class.
