Ida Romelle,
Certainly, without adequate preparation, any instructor will be on (and feel like) shaky ground. Competence and confidence kind of go hand in hand. And since students sort of expect their instructor to be fully prepared (even if they are not), we have a duty to do all we can to be ready, with all material and resources prepared.

It motivates the students , it creates confidence on the part of the instructor thus effective teaching-learning will occur.

Clive,
Yes, and when students see this practice consistently they grow to expect this as the norm, and are more apt to take their class seriously because they their instructor is.

The ability to lay out every day's material and plan out pacing, handouts, and other materials is indispensable

Fredrik,
And that feeling of confidence goes a long ways towards trust, respect and credibility by students towards their instructor. No guarantees, but without preparation, outcomes and credibility are sure to be diminished.

Jessica,
I jus can't imagine an instructor who would appear for class without full preparation. I know we all get busy, but on the other hand, teaching students is our job and we owe our students and employer the full measure of our focus.

Being organized & prepared helps with a smooth flowing class, which gives the students more confidence in their instructor.

Organization helps both the instructor maximize class time and helps the students enjoy a learning experience with smooth transitions.

Tracy,
I know I do better when I have all my materials prepared and a good organized outline for the days activities. Students notice that too, and as a result, feel more comfortable about their learning.

It is the instructors job and responsibility to be organized and prepared for class. If you aren't your students lose faith in you. In addition, it makes for a long class session.

Issa,
Most students look up to their instructor as a role model. When they see evidence their instructor is not prepared, that diminishes a degree of trust and respect they're willing to give.

David,
It's true, students know when their instructor is less than fully prepared for class -- and it can be an embarrassment when students begin to lose trust and respect.

I feel more confident when I’m organized and prepared, and it helps me be very productive and ready for presentation.

If your not prepared and students no this,i have found that they will question your ability to teach them, and you are faced with trying to connect with them.

Richard,
There are many little tricks that are simple, but help make the students school life a bit clearer, organized, and structured.

Carolyn,
I've observed that the "back-side" of many students lives wrought with personal issues, chaos, and dozens or similar stressors. I think our classes create a form of respite from the chaos in their lives, but that is only true when the instructor has adequately prepared, has an organized plan, laid out clear expectations, and is consistent in their delivery of course material.

Being prepared, being organized is a good role model for students. It seems to be appreciated by adult students who have "time crunched" aily lives. Being organized allows an opportunity for free time also for questions, activities, etc.

Deborah,
Students need order and structure to reinforce that their instructor is in control and is ready each class session. Providing the best learning environment does much to get and keep students engaged, participating, and stay interested in class.
