Denise,
Welcome to teaching. Your approach to your first class is a good one. With passion for your field and enthusiasm for teaching about it you are setting a very professional tone in your class. I wish you much success with your students because with 20 years of experience you are a storehouse of knowledge that needs to be shared.

I record my lectures and listen to them for errors and lack of enthusiasm. The first module in this course has been quite helpful and I look forward to applying new techniques.
I like the perspective that learning comes first and how important it is to admit mistakes. The dedication and integrity in this point of view is enlightening. I enjoyed watching your presentation style. It was engaging. What do you suggest for those who wish to develop an instructional style that is as engaging as yours?

My school provides me with a few different ways of of developing, refining, and enhancing my instructional. These ways include Maxknowledge classes, webinar classes, and professional conferences.
I plan on adding more interactive activities such as round robin q&a and timed answer games

What are some ways you treat your students as if they were on the job?

What helps the most is having plenty of patience when you are teaching and finding out what technique each students learning stage are.

Alice,
Like the way you approach instructional preparation and delivery. You are both a seeker of knowledge as well as a deliverer. This is what keeps you sharp and prepared to share with your students.

When working with a very diverse group of students i find delivery methods are crucial to success. You must find a way to reach each student on their own level.
Experience! The more you teach, become familiar with content, shadow others, and model who you admire or respect, the more your instructional style will be refined.
There is a saying about picking appropriate friends and who you sorround yourself with is who you will become and how you will be percieved. The same follows true in teaching.

My techniques continue to change as my students change. I learn from seminars, peers, and my instructors being that I am taking classes as well.
When starting out as an instructor, I like to sit in other classrooms and observe my collegues with their teaching strategies. No one has the same type of teaching methods, so it would be useful to sit in different classrooms to learn knew ideas and how you can improve. One thing that I find very useful to me is being prepared. People have a sense in knowing how long you took to prepare for the class, and if you are not confident in what you are teaching, why should they take you seriously? I know that the professional appearance plays a part in it as well. If I see someone who is not dressed to fit the role, I will struggle to listen to what they have to say. We are our worse critic, and the same thing that we say about others we should say about ourselves; and take our own advise.
by learning names of my students and keeping thing simple and stright to the point.
