Each student learns differently, so each student will find their routine for learning the skills that we practice. Things are different for me as an instructor because I teach in the hospital setting.

Understanding Learning Characteristics is vital in the planning of course study because I would be able to understand the student level of understanding as to better assist and encourage them to improve in their studies.

It is vital that a learners characteristics are identified very early on in the class planning process. As an instructor, you need to accomadate to each and every student. This a key role an instructor should always do. ruben

I totally agree. When I first began teaching, I felt like the course creation was a destination. Throughout the year and within several terms, the course has actually become journey. I am constantly changing and updating my course based on the needs of the student I am teaching at the time. What was right for one group of student in one term, wasn't right for the next. So I adapt the course to give them what they need.

The understanding of learners characteristics helps in many ways. One way is by knowing the characteristics, we are able to know what will help the student understand the topic, we can plan a lesson that will help them individually

I have acquired helpful information that I can apply toward my classroom activities.

I will often bring in a graduate to re-enforce the applications of computers in the work force. It always sinks in to the student as they hear it from prior students.

So that we hit a home run the first time out, and connect with the students.

As a medical assisting instructor, I ask the student straight out what kind of learner they are. As adults, they should already have an idea as to how they learn best and taking this into consideration aids in how I will deliver the course content.

I agree and use them frequently in my classes for the reasons you state. They get the students excited and motivated to do well in the course because they help the students to see the value of the content being presented.

Understanding that everyone learns differently and understanding why a student is enrolled in my class can help me as an instructor have apropriate lessons and assignments that capitalize on these characteristics.
