FOCUS

Remembering that its okay not to be prefect but to push forward with our students to develop their personal grit is very important to keep students involved in the class and to create a sense of empowerment.

I need to remember that I do not need to be perfect, but effective

I should identify the reasons for students enrolling in my class to help my students develop into successful learners.

I've learn how to reach out to a student who is having a difficult time in their persoanl life. I learn how to understand them and listen to them and assure them that I will be here for them to listen and give advise if they need someone to talk to.

Eventually getting burnt out whether its me and the studets. I need to remember REFOCUS. This can help me get or give some inspiration to keep our eyes on why we are ultimately here.

The segment on participation was very helpful. Using small groups to get the more shy students involved and the suggestions for ways to reign in the talkers was very informative.

Using story telling to incorporate real life learning into the classroom is a good way to break up leactures and keep students focused.

it is important to change up the learning environment, games, group think, lecture etc.

I plan to show better enthusiasm towards the course materials. I will include strategies to bypass the mid-course blues to help with student focus and retention.

REFOCUS: Recognize, Empower, Focus, Objectivize, Commit, Unburden, Surprise: A strategy to combat the mid-course slump where students and teachers lose interest, lose focus on the course.

i Like the Idea of the midterm evaluation of the course and see how th pulse of the class is.

Enjoyed this section! Keeping students engaged can sometimes be challenging, thats why it's so important to add variety of different assingments. I liked the REFOCUS tool

It is important to bring personal experiences into the learning experience as it can help connect with students more and have them share some of their own.

It's important to build a good rapport with your students. If they trust you they will be willing to open up to you and engage more in the classroom. Learning their names, being supportive and treating them with respect plays an big part in building a rapport.

Engage students, by taking into account their attention spans, for optimal learning outcomes

Building student rapport is important to engage with students. Instructors should be mindful of how and when to engage students to prevent off-task behaviors within the class setting.

Keep students focussed to the learning objectives. and know the student's reasons behind career commitment.

The respect of the student and their willing to learn is was well presented
