jim perry my stressor is thinking about the job all the time never letting go. i loose sleep and get fatigued a lot

one of mine has always been when an instructor does something they know is wrong and has been told about it so many times it is rediculous, and then management continues to let it go on and on. why is todays management afraid to do their jobs??????? i relieve it by trying to ignore it as much as i can, oh well

my stressor is no one can make decisions, no one knows anything, I don't know is the standard answer for everything.this stressor remains my stressor.I do my management steps and I get through situations.I care and I do my best everyday.

Staying on top of computer control in lab when I am not the adminstrator is my #1 stressor.All I can do to relive the stress is to contact IT and have them handle what is wrong.

That's tough Terry. Some schools don't even have that kind of document. But once it's created, it usually isn't consistently followed within institutions. You might try leading by example.

Yes, sometimes the auto pilot method works Jeff. Drawing on methods that you know are effective is a great foundation.

The biggest stressor I have is having management that seems to not be able to make a decision or follow up quickly with each individual as to why or why not with the results. I can help with this stressor by asking more direct questions to get the answer faster.

A big stress at this time is not having time while doubling to do the little prep things like reading up on a subject before the lecture. I cope by using what has worked in the past and working on auto pilot.

My biggest stressor is the inconsistencies of following the rules and Management not doing anything about it. We have a set "Standard Operating Proceedure" that should be followed by EVERYBODY and unfortunetly is not.

This is true. When we are in the work environment for too long, sometimes it's hard to actually get our work done! Finding a quiet place to retreat every now and then can help.

This is a tough one to deal with Daniel. Picking up where others have left off can be particularly frustrating when your workload gets heavy.

I think my Number 1 would be incompetency by others. I have to understand that everyone doesnt
think or work the same.They may not do things the way i would .

The biggest stressor is too many hours at work.This makes for more paperwork to grade and puts pressure on me to get my paperwork completed.

Keeping up with timelines, especially on short phases can be very stressfull a a new instructor. As an instructor gets more practiced in that class, this tends to dissappear.

You can have all types of stressors, at work and at home. Stressors at work can be Management, coworkers and students. After 20+ years and a Pacemaker I have found different ways to deal with stressors, the one that I use the most is writing down the stressor on paper then put it in the trash can, when it comes up I remind myself that I trash it and that it no longer exist.

Problems or situation not being taken care of in a timely manner,I have used the method of keeping a running list but you take care of them and move on to the next area you don't let it continue this only creates more stress.
