By showing examples ~ they have something to work for. There will be no misunderstanding (or limited misunderstanding) if they know what is expected of them. It also may answer some questions that come up.
It is important to show students examples of the work they will be doing in the upcoming course so they will understand the importance of completeting each assignment, and also how the previous assignment relates to the upcoming assignment.
Hi Serena,
I concur! Students are more ready to begin the assignment when they have full clarity.

Hi Lillian,
Visual is a great sense to utilize to help students understand.

I agree I also believe it helps the student feel more comfortable with the assignment and reduces hesitation on their part.
It is helpful to show your students examples of the work they will be doing in an upcoming course to ease anxiety and show students the knowledge they will accumulate and be able to apply towards the assignment. Often directions in a syllabus can be intimidating to a student starting a class. By seeing an example of an assignment, the student will be able to see the expectations and have some direction on how to be successful in the course.
Allows them the oppertunity to relate to the knowledge and examples to real life working issues.

Hi Lillian,
I concur! Most people get it, if they can see it.

Examples are important because it help them understand the course and also when giving examples it is good to have variety to cover those students that learn thru visual, audio or kinesthetics.
I believe that by giving examples it helps to paint a picture of what to expect. a lot of people are visiual and this also helps to break the golden silence.
I too agree with Edward. I think students take pride of ownership when you show thier work. Also the student can help other students if needed.
Hi Sherry,
Students really get a better understanding when a visual is shared.

It helps students to understand your expectations for performance and reduces anxiety on their part. Students will be better prepared to meet the expectations if they are clearly presented.
Hi Arthur,
