I have found that showing examples have motivated, reduced the anxiety, and made the students very comfortable in class.

My students have a project for each course to prepare and present to the class. I keep the examples from each type of project so new students have an idea of what can be done. They really like seeing each others ideas.

The type of program I teach is what I believe is a total package. I make it clear when students come in that there is a method to all the madness and the program is designed to make the goal of becoming a productive MA. By assisting the students in understanding where they will be in each course and what to expect, better prepares them.

It helps them to plan around their busy work lives and family schedules also. They are able to see what is expected far in advance so they have the opportunity to complete assignments early if necessary, knowing they wont have time around the actual due date.

Hi Tammy,
Great motivator and clarity when examples are shared.

Giving students examples allows them the opportunity to view the course materials and understand that it will be manageable.

Hi Diana,
I concur! Great clarity is added when examples are shared.

Students will more than likely have better focus, direction, and understanding. This may also give a student an opportunity to work at ther own pace.

Hi Jo Ann,
It really does put the students more at ease when an example is shared.

Hi Paulette,
Students have a better understanding when examples are shared.

Hi Phillip,
If a student can get motivated to get started, they will normally follow through with their work.

Hi Paul,
Excellent... you should call this the Wall of Hall of Fame! Students feel extremely special when their work is displayed, great confidence booster!

Hi Pamela,
Students love having a template. A template serves as a guide for students, and they feel safer with a template.

This will take some of the first day jitters away.

so that it can be easier on both the learners and presenter.

Not everyone is perfect and it's difficult sometimes to get started when presenting a solution. It takes a group/community effort to establish a base line to work from in diagraming the problem then through progressive assessment-continue to improve as a whole.

I have taped to the next to my desk wall, examples
of past students work. For one thing it gives a sence of pride to the student whos work it is whenn he comes bace to visit, and anouther thing it does it showes the work expected for others. Also I have had coments on how does one get to be put on the wall, I think it gives them something to shoot for.

To show them what you expect. Give them a templet so they can not be supprised. I think when you prepare them they are more comfortable with class and whats comming. No supprises and no excuses.

In my opinion, I believe seeing makes subject matter easier for both the teachers and the students.

showing examples will engage them further, also it is a great representation of what you expect
