Hi John,
I concur! Students have a visual guideline to go by and can meet/exceed what they see.

Showing examples of work provides concrete models of what is expected, and reduces anxiety and uncertainty. Students can also relate work requirements to similar situations they have handled successfully in other classes.
Hi Melissa,
I too loved being shown examples when I was a student. I gained a better understanding of it all.

Hi Andrea,
I like how you take this field trip extremely early in the grading period. I am sure this field trip generates a lot of excitement, and many students can visualize themselves working in a hospital.

Hi Susan,
Students are less apprehensive once they have been shown an example.

Hi Thomas,
You are right! Some students will go above and beyond the example.

Hi Jessica,
I concur! Visual provides great clarification.

I completely agree, Emerson. I think especially with an adult learner. When they spend time trying to mentally picture what is expected of them, they waste precious time for the hands-on, finished project. Showing them examples, cuts down on mental planning time.
I always feel that showing students examples of work from previous students helps to clarify the made objective of that assignment. I know when I was a student, seeing examples of what was expected of me not only made me understand the expectations of the teacher, but also gave me a guideline of what was needed to excel over those that studied before me.
Showing the students what they will be able to do when they graduate gives them a "light at the end of the tunnel". We try to take the students out on a field trip to a hospital in their chosen field the very first week of class. It gives them something to strive for.
I agree. Some students have a greater understanding when they can see an example.
To ease the students fear of the course and to begin the process of engaging the student.
Showing examples of past work has given my students both a target to shoot for and a target to beat.
The visual aspects of presentations help further students understanding of the subject.
I believe that it is helpful for students to assess where they are currently at at the beginning of the vourse to, to where they will be upon completing the course.
It gives the student a standard to use as they complete their assignments. It also allows them to ask any further questions to clarify the course
expectations/requirements.
It heps show studens the quality of work I expect. It also helps eliminate any ambiguity of assignments they might claim based on how they read the assigned work. Showing an example lets my students also know that I do give high grades becasue I have picked out work that is worthy of the grade.
It gets them excited and motivated to do it themselves and provides clarity on what is expected.
I would say this would be a perfect example for hands on experience. As a Respiratory instructor, this will show my students what the real world is like.
it is important that the students does return demonstration to know if they have understood and retain the course we have teach them Astrid
