Hi Diane,
I really like how you make each student feel very important, and I especially like your personal touch, yet professionalism with your students.

Patricia Scales

Interacting with students let the student know that the instuctor cares about her learning, you gain trust, let the student relax a little about the course and instructor.
For me it keeps me informed of the student progress and if they need extra help.

When I do my attendance, I ask how are you and it also let me know what day I will have with the students.

To know them individally. You are able to build a better repitor with them that way.

to make the student themselves feel more comfortable with you being able to instruct them, and to let them know you care about them individually.

I beleive interaction with my students helps me to make my lessons "real world' relevant in terms of their future goals and in dealing with their current day to day lives. It also helps me to develop my lessons with material that they will be interested in and thus retain.

To avoid favorites and to engage with each student. This helps make their learning experience a success.

Interaction with all students is essential for good classroom management. From careful observations (non-invasive) to 1 minute interventions (one on one) you will get to know your students quickly. We use 6 week cycles so the time is short. To help with this our colege uses student notes in a data base shared buy the
instructors to track student concerns/problems.
On the first day you can read notes to give a heads up for areas of concern. It provides a method to know who you might want to watch or how to approach a given student after a short observation period. Interaction is enhanced.

It is important to interact with every student so that they all feel a part of the class and that they all feel they are important to me and their future is important to me. I try to "make their day" at least once during the time that I have them by telling them that I am so happy to have them in my class, or that they have a great smile, or that I appreciate their dedicaiton to their academics, etc.

It is important to spend equal amount of time with each student to clarify that every student is important in the learning process. This will also show that individual attention must be in the best interest of the content and understanding

Students need to know, "Am I in or out?" By interacting with every student, the instructor is making each student feel like they are in. And I believe this leads to "buy in." Specific interactions signify to the student that the instructor finds them a valuable asset. And I believe it represents what I now know as "CPR," which stands for courtesy, professionalism, and respect. I have "post-reading" to thank for that useful acronym, which is an awesome tool to use with my nursing students!

Hi Brian,
Students are very important! Let's give them the attention they deserve and make it a point to interact with each student daily.

Patricia Scales

Interaction with every student gives them a since of importance and shows that the instructor is fair and cares how ALL the students are doing.

It is important to interact with students individually to show you are interested, and inclusive of all independent of other factors. This improves student involvement in all aspects of the class.

Hi Arthur,
I agree! I call on every student because each student is important.

Patricia Scales

All students have somthing to offer to class. Drawing on all students pulls the team together.

Interacting with each student shows them that you really care about them and that you are aware of what is going on in the classroom.

Interacting with your students is important because it shows the student that you care about their learning and are a person, not just a teacher standing in front of them at a podium. They are more apt to respond to learning when you show a human side. Smile, laugh, joke with them and this makes them more comfortable with you and being in your classroom

It is important because every student needs to know that he/she has as much worth as the next. Sometimes we let our attention go more to the participators and risk allowing the quiet students to become more withdrawn - we need to be constantly 'on guard' in that area and risk letting potentially great students fall through the cracks.

Hi Carmencita,
I agree! What better way to learn about a student than to interact with them!

Patricia Scales

I believe it's imperative to interact with your students. It's a way to know where there head is at. What their goals are. What learning style they may have. It makes them feel like they belong to your team.
