Creating a positive image involves several aspects of knowing one's self. If one is confident, has clear and specific requirements and adheres to them, the student is more apt to feel good about and respect that instructor. One's dress, demeanor,attitude, and experiential background all play a part in how the instructor is perceived by the students.

There are many steps that can be taken to ensure that once created a postive instructor image. The most important one I believe is being professional. This can include dressing and behaving professionally as well as treating each student with respect. If you make sure you are doing those few things, you will most certainly have a positive image as an instructor.

I think that for me I try to create as an instructor the image I am playing a game. My problem is I need to win the game. The students success is when they have learned the materials comfortably and can respond back to me. In playing a game there are always rules an regulations one must follow and that is what understanding and performing are what important in teaching the material on needs to learn.
The students start forming an image of istructor the first day of class. so, the first day I am prepare by myself in how Ilook, speak, even where and talk with my studen. I need to reflect a professional image. If we are fair, consistent, and dedicated, we will gain their respect. My relationship with students start on the first class and has to be based upon students needing instruction and the instructors has to providing.

Get to know each student's name and their educational background. Show them willing to help them in learning and maintain a positive teacher / student attitude in a very professional manner. I try to be very organize and tell them whem when I start and when I finish and be very open to questions and be very clear in what I expect from them.
