Hi Raquel,
We must lead by example. We are truly role models for many of our students. Our sudents look up to us.
Patricia
Hi Kimberlee,
Everyone is watching you as an instructor. Professionalism is a must.

Hi Cindy,
Students truly want the best, therefore, we must exemplify through our professionalism that we are the best.
Patricia
Hi Lisa,
It is a BIG problem when students begin to question your knowledge base. Students look up to us in more ways than one.
Patricia
Hi Ernest,
Distance should always be maintained between instructors and students. The minute distance lapses is the minute trouble begins.
Patricia
Hi Steve,
I concur. All students are favorable. There is not any one student that should matter more than the other.
Patricia
To matain a professional image because if you are not professional then how could you be a good role model for your students.
Being a former marine, I dicovered something that never has failed me. Friendly, but not friends.
I always believe in kitchen kharma " what goes around comes around". I cannot expect my students to act professionally and respectful if I myself do not behave as professional. We should have both moral and good work ethics. I agreed with Melissa that if we can talk the talk, we should walk the walk.
Respect, and to show what is ahead for them when they reach a differant level in their feild.
i think sometimes that students try to form an personal association with the teacher in the expectation that they will get a good grade. It is important for the other students to feel that no student is regarded more favorably than others.
Hi Amy,
Image is everything. Students want to know that they are learning from someone who has a high level of professionalism Students look up to educators in more ways than one.
Patricia
You gain respect from your students and at the same time are teaching them to be a professional person. Also showing a great example of a professional person.
Students need to have confidence in the instructors knowledge and ability to make sound decisions, when students are looking to the instructor for answers to career based questions. It is important to not allow any room for doubt in the mind of the students, so they will view the instructors through professionalism and want to attain the quality traits for themselves.
It maintains the boundries of the roles and expectations of the relationship. Allowing the professional distance to lapse undermines the instructors image and credibilty with the student.
Students are preparing for the workplace - this is what they should expect after their studies. Also makes it easier for the instructor to deal with a student on an objective, rather than subjective, basis.
Hi Vincent,
Distance is everything when you are an instructor. Each person needs to play their role effectively. The instructor plays the role of the instructor, and the student plays the role of the student.
Patricia
Hi David,
Treat every student the same! By being fair to all no one has to make comparisons.
Patricia
Maintaining a professional image is important. The students look to you as a specialist in your field of instruction so keeping the image is important for the student to feel as though you know your material that you are presenting. That is why they came to a career school they want the expert in the field.
You have to lead by example. Your students along with the staff are watching you and learning from you.
