Organization and familiarity with the LMS and technical issues students may encounter will save time and also give the student a better learning experience than if they must wait for others to answer their questions and concerns.

In my recent experience, I have learned that not all students like to work linearly.  If the concepts build on one another, I need to be more thoughtful about creating opening and due dates for the lessons.

I learned about the most popular course structure is the module and lessons, and the importance of navigational simplicity.

It is important for all involved to understand the program to deliver the material effectively.

I can see the value in creating an online learning experience but only if it is done right.  Hope to learn how to do it right.

I have learned that maintaining structure that is easy for the students to understand and follow will help keep the students engaged. This helps with retention. Also making it easy for students to track their progress and communicate with the instructor is very important.

E-learning is different for every kid, and availability as well.

The first step as an instructor is to make sure that you are familiar with the system. This will allow you to assist your students. When students feel as if they are supported, they are more likiely to have a higher sense of comfort and stability, which will help with the learning process.

There seems to be a lot of things that an online instructor needs to know!  Structure is very important and also understanding how the platform works.  Time management is something that I would like to learn about.  I know that when I have taken on line courses, it is important to get feed back from the instructor in a timely matter.  Being an effective communicator is is key.

You need to make sure that your system and technology will not become a issue. Stduents need to feel and understand it is a classroom. And you are there to support

Learning  structure for Online platform

How to structure delivery of online content

Regardless of our everchanging technology world we must continue to address our students as individual learners. There are some basic things we must have in place to ensure the increase of student success.

I feel it takes teachers to a whole new level of prep, especially if we will be required to do smaller classes and online.

I am learning to set expectations by creating a supportive online community through a social learning platform that has:

Structure integrity

Navigational simplicity

Intellectual interaction

Active learner centered learning

In addition to the Couse Management System CMS having:

Learning Support

Technical Support

Couse Delivery

As the instructor of an online class, I need to give clear expectations and communicate my message. I also need to provide students access to communicating with me should questions arise. Before using online learning, students need to be given a tutorial on how to use the system. As the educator, I need to be prompt with replies and notifying students when they are falling behind.

It is important that students have the resources and technical support to be a successful online learner.

It is important for the online instructor to not only be prepared with quality instructional materials, formative and summative assesment tools, and engaging learning activities for students to both discover and apply course content, the online instructor must also be prepared and able to operate the mechanisms of the CMS in order for the student to have a good experience with the online course.

As an instructor, knowing course content and how to navigate the system is key. We should be aware students are not all the same, and learn in different styles, this is key- to post and show various forms of how to do the same activity. This can help break down the barriers for students and feel more comfortable- hopefully to ask more questions and not feel left out.

In an E-Learning environment, it is imperative that we as instructors familiarize ourselves with the CMS to better understand what the students will be seeing and processing as we move into a different direction of delivery.

As an online instructor there are a lot of factors that must be thought through in order for a course to be successful. You must be as knowledgeable about the content as you are the plaform you are using for the course.
