The instructor does not always have to develop the learning objects. This is the best piece of advise, since we are natural researchers, when we look for content that is already created, we have the possibility of refreshing a previous knowledge or debate a wrong given information and even better, learning new approaches.
It is important that the student experience is very similar and predicatable among all your courses.
I learned a variety of ways to create, test, and revise a course module and the important things that are needed to make it successful. I'll make sure to have my friend test the module and give me feedback, as she already teaches an on line course and has knowledge in this area.
The most important things That I learned from this Module is that you have to be consistent when you develop the modules, that they have to be consice and similars to each others
I’ve learned module consistency is the most important thing make it easier for the students to understand.
Be selective with videos and only use them to support a topic.
I had no idea there was such a thing as TeacherTube and SchoolTube. I intend to research these.
I plan to practice using the existing formats and templates, to develop automaticity in accessing them myself, so that I can help my students locate learning objects easily.
I learned about discussion board in LMS.So that students can interact with each other.
I believe one of the important aspects of authoring is the communication with the target audience. One disadvantage of online learning is the limited feedback from the audience especially from an engagement perspective. That's one of the reason why the way the study material / class content is prepared needs to be properly managed. This means for the most part, consistency across the board.
Course consistancy. Understanding of non-verbal cues and expectations for learning.
The most important thing is making the course consistent. Students will gain a better understanding and not be as anxious with the consistency.
consistency in online learning delivery cannot be overly emphasized. Chunking topics will help to administer content throughout a period of time.
The most important things I have learned is consistency from section to section also the average learner loses interest in 10-15 minutes so you might want to do chunking.
Authoring online learning modules is not a simple task. To move from face to face instruction to virtual learning is a huge leap. I would imagine that people who teach online courses for a living will have longer to develop these modules than I and my fellow teachers do thanks to COvid 19. As always, we will do our best.
I learned the importance of consistency when creating course modules.
Consistency is extremely important along with developing a database for ease of references.
Stay consitent, students need consitency, keep all modules looking similar
This lesson taught about the consitiency within course modules and how the learners will navigate it more effectively.
