Much of this was very applicable about 2011 when I was creating my own course shells in Moodle, however that format is locked down now by the school.
Developing courses that are similiar in look- consistent is very important to the learning process for students.
Using the formats provided, making sure the student will understand, and engage studnets by being consistant
I learned to keep modules and learning activities about the same length so students will know what to expect.
I have learned that consistency is key in an online course. I plan to be as consistent as possible in all communication to students.
Its true that consistency with the modules help the students not be lost, and help the teacher in futures curses or lectures.
I've learned that the platform is not expected to be static, but to change. Course shells and materials need updating and frequently visited.
A good primer on course design and development.
I learned that we need to be consistant in the contect that we develop for the students.
When the courses and modules are consistent the student does not get confused. The modules at my organization have already be prepared and seem to use this model in most of the courses.
The concept of learning objects and chunking was new to me - I plan to learn more and develop this in my teaching content.
I can see why consistency is important, because it can be very frustratiing to have to figure out stuff that is constantly changing. I know that every time we get used to using an on-line system, There are some "enhancements" made. We are creatures of habit and don't like it when someone moves the cheese.
This section has validated my practice of using templates for my courses and ensuring each unit or module is structred the same way to decrease confusion for the students as well as lessen the communication I receive from students seeking clarification. It is a time-saver for all involved and decreases frustration in the learning process.
Module consistency whether format, language or other instruction. Also, creating a database for learning objects to save time and share with peers.
One thing I've learned is the importance of consistency when creating content in each module. It is also helpful to create smaller chunks so students can digest the information more easily.
I have learned that being clear and consistent in how the course is set up and how it works is vital to students' success.
Keep a database and use templates. Consistency and time saving
For this section, I've learned that course planning should support the course learning objectives. During implementation and testing, expect that there will be revisions. Modules should have siimilar layout for consistency. Finally, I also learned that when creating and testing the module course, scaffolding is necessary to promote learning.
Having the same format assist students with a smoother learning process. Will attempt to have a standardized template to ensure standardization through the course.
