I'm really excited to add other forms of communicating and exchanging knowledge for my students! My problem will be to generate the enthusiasm for the discussion, as my subject is nor necessarily volatile. (Nutrition).

Be very detailed with your instructions regarding course communication and discussion in your syllabus, and its the Instructor's role to be th "tour guide" to help students map their success in an online course.  Ensure students have an opportunity to build thier knowledge/skills through scaffolding opportunties in the modules or course learning outcomes.

This reassured me that a good syllubus is a key element and road for the course information and objectives. Also, i learned the effective tools to communicate in an online learnining emvironment.

That one of the most important parts of you course is to build a dinamic syllabus to help feed required information to the student.

Scaffolding remains an important part of student learning. In the classroom, it is important to identify and build upon students' prior knowledge in order to help reach the desired learning objectives. This is just as important in the online learning environment.

Buildfing on prior knowledge is always important! The thing that stood out the most is students should learn more from their usage of technology then just the mere having ihe technology.  This should be an active and dynamic piece and one that students take ownership of!!

It is important to have a dynamic syllabus for the course. This will help guide the students' learning. It is also important to set up communication guidelines and how that will take place. Scaffolding of content will allow for all learniers to be successful in the course.

Effective communication is essential to online learners. As instructors, we must find accountable ways for learners to communicate their ideas of each lesson being taught. Participation points and encouraging collaboration with their peers are a few ways to help build the knowledge and skills of a learner.

I think that with good effective communicating from the start and use scaffolding to see what they have learned, teachers can see what they have with prior knowledge and continue to grow.

A detailed/dynamic syllabus is key to an online community. It must be detailed and yet able to change as issues or improvements arise. Remember, a flat text does not build this, it must be a "live" format (i.e, audio, or video, links, and detailed explanations). As S2I communication, is important to help a student feel apart of the community, so is S2S. You want to think of various ways to meet everyone's learning styles and comfort levels.

All good material. I'm reviewing this section again.

Creating a dynamic syllabus is a great introduction to the course.

Detailed instruction is key to the success of learning on-line.  I will implement the scaffolding technique to insure that my students will have the structure to focus for student actiivities and to build upon their prior knowlege and experiences.

I have to be more aware of having discussions and communication.  I need to work on that and to offer different types because again everyone is different and will be more comfortable with a specific way of communication. having a variety will hopefully reach all students.

I agree with having a good clear direction in the syllabus to help the students get inspired by the course goals and what they can achive.

I think "scaffolding" can be very helpful to other students who haven't that much experience with topic. Each student's prior experience on topic helps other learn more.

I have learned the importance of creating a successful Online Learning Community through the use of online tools that develop group and individual communication and online knowledge sharing.

I'm truly surprised that this course encourages the use of pseudonyms for students posting in discussion groups.  I think this is bowing a little too far toward current online user behavior and much too far away from what should be expected of college students.

Instructional delivery success requires use of a dynamic syllabus, developing an online learning community, multiple dimensions of effective communication building scaffolds for student learning.

Sustaining an online learning community is also essential to ensure learning.  Creating a sustainable online learning community involves developing forums in which students feel comfortable sharing ideas, opinions, and facts with others in synchronous or asynchronous environments.
