I particularly like the physical exercise suggestion. After a good run, my head is much clearer. I think through the stressors & upon returning home, I enumerate them & sort into things I can do something about & things to which I have not yet found a solution. Something I need help with though, & hope that whom ever is reading this can help is, dealing with difficult people in the work place. Any thoughts are very welcome. Thank you.

I like to take my employees outside the work environment to relax, have fun and team build-whether its to a unique restaurant, bowling, or to a park

A sense of humor is always valuable. Always be careful to not have a sense of humor at the expense of others. If a team can laugh togehter is much better than to laugh at someone.

My sense of humor helps me over come stress and help others.

Professionals have always advised us to do or think of something that is pleasnt. Your actions are definitely therapeutic.

For me, there is something therapeutic about driving my convertible (weather permitting) top down and cruise. Not always possible I take power walks around campus.

You approached your stress from a biological standpoint. This is an intelligent position to take. This can produce better strategy and decision making. Good for you. Stress can be best handled with balance in your life. Mental activity, healthy physical exercise and spiritual activity.

Adding a few minutes of regular meditation and breathing has helped me alleviate stress.

The deep breathing has helped in the moment on the job.
Rethinking certain work scenarios have helped.
Small changes in eating patterns help me relax easily. Lowering caffeine is one great example.

I find that the friendly humor of peers goes a long way to keeping you feel "you are not alone-we've all been there". I keep a calendar and highlight the dinners with friends, travel explorations, favorite trinkets I have wanted (tiny baubles) and found along with short term goals to cross off as a work in progress. I give a lot of energy to meaningful work, but I must have a inner core that is nourished away from the workplace.

I applaud you for your sense of well being by taking care of yourself. You can divert stress affects on you by doing the very things you are doing. When someone can engage in practices they love to do will alleviate the stress conditions.

I have handled workplace stress in a variety of ways. Each of us handle it differently, but I enjoy being creative as my outlet. I draw, or work on some sort of cratf-like project (like quilting or cross-stitch). I have started my own business from this venture and it definitely helps me to relieve stress and focus on other productive outlets for my work. I have also taken Yoga or Pilates classes in the hopes of doing the theme of "centering" myself. And working on breathing exercises to help reduce the stress response.

Balance in one's life is key to success. Your activity increases your sense of balance.

Life styles with strong balance with mental health, physical and spiritual prepares you for daily stress and conflict.

Some of lifes temptations can be great stress increasers. Having self-discipline helps to avoid unnecessary stress.

Both are great ideas. Doing healthy activity will help to reduce stress.

Going for walks, if you can, while at work, will help relieve stress. Just getting out in the open air can do wonders for your soul and mind.

Do you really let others determine your future?
Follow your heart and mind. Do what is right for you. We can not let others stop us from growing.

I believe spiritual to be the most important because the others will easily follow. A strong faith in God or something will help one to "keep on keeping on".

Personally, I do several things:

1. Keep a sense of humor
2. Exercise
3. Think about if this is where I want to be
4. Try to identify who or what is the problem
5. Always keep track of my self-worth
