Listening is a key to great communication. Studies explain listening makes up to 87% of good communication.

I have found listening to co-workers is the best way to help them handle stress. Most people are under stress, because they can't discuss the problem with anyone. If you give the person an outlet, they can usually figure out the solution to a problem.

Any symbol of kindness or special attention is appreciated.

I type "positive thoughts" on mailing labels and stick them onto peppermint candies. I call them my ENCOURAGEMINTS. You'd be surprised how beneficial they can be to students and fellow employees for reducing stress and promoting positive thinking.

Spiritual awareness is always a plus. Each of us need to keep a balanced life. Health, mental activity, physical exercise and spiritual awareness helps to prepare for each day.

I am sorry this is a little late. I have out of the country and a little problem connections with all the storms.

One thing that I have done to reduce stress in the work place is to breathe and try to take a few min. break. It truly helps. I always aks GOD to help me. That really helps me the most.

The challenges of life are stressful at times. It is our ability to remain calm and approach them with an attitude of resolve. My father always used to say the sun will still come up tomorrow. He was right. After 41 years of working in the education area I have had my challenges and successes but no matter what the sun still came up everyday.

Everyone handles stress differently. The first thing that one has to realize is there are certain things that happen in life that we have no control of. When stressful things at my day job, teaching jobs or personal life happen. The best thing is to talk to a friend, walk, breathe and relax. Do something for yourself. Sometimes as a woman, we worry about everyone else and forget about "me". A treat at the hairdresser is always a great stress reducer. :-)

We all need a way to reach our place of relaxation. How ever we find that inner peace that is the place we must go when we are overwhelmed by situations.

I used to back up and stop my employees especially if I saw them going in the wrong direction due to deadlines or whatever. I would take the immediate staff to lunch and I would do it early before they were really thinking about that break at 1230. I took squirt guns to a creative meeting once...I got the idea from a book. But if anyone said anything negative you could pick up a gun and squirt - one time and they were not super soakers.

Working out in any form is good for you. We all have different capabilities but within in our own ability we need to enjoy some form of increasing the blood flow to the brain. You have shown how that is possible. Always keep your life in balance with the physcal activity, mental activity and spiritual enrichment.

Amen to that! That is sometimes what I need to keep reminding myself!

I had an ACL replacement about two years ago and I get stiff or sore easily. So now and then if I am achey I like to do some stretching with bands to work out my knee. I have a travel exercise band kit so sometimes I can fit in a quick non-sweaty flexes on a few other areas also. This gives me a quick burst of energy and helps keep my knee strong.

I really like your Bible verse suggestion. I tend to not take breaks besides my lunch anymore since I have gotten busier. I used to and I found when I did read/listen to Bible verses it also made me more productive. The meditation fills me with more energy and destresses me. I also like Joyce Meyers podcast too. My problem is I don't commit to doing it anymore so I am actually less productive from not taking the break. I really should get back to doing that. Thanks!!

I'm totally agree. We need to have time to do exercise. to find maybe a gym close to your home or walk around your neighboor is a good idea. We can invite family members or also you could invite your co-workers in your lunch time to walk at least for 20 minutes.

Exercise is very important to stress relief. It is also important to lead a balanced life. Practice the balance with exercise, mental challenges, good health practices and spiritual practice helps reduce stress.

The best way I have found to relieve stress steming from the work place is to join a gym and workout. It relieves all the emotional problems of the day and helps to relax me and get my mind clear and ready for the next days challenges.

Teaching good stress relief techniques is great. It is always good to have a sense of humor as long as we laugh togehter and not at someone. Stess is reduced when people can have a good sense of humor without penalties for having the ability to laugh.

Organization, don't procrastinate, intrinsic motivation and balance in your life will help get the job done with a healthy outcome. Keep your lifes balanced with exercise, health, mental challenge and spiritual moments.

Humor is always a good measure but we need to be sure to laugh with our employees and not at them. Humor is something that will increase our life just by some good laughs.
