Some of the terms and defintions commonly used during the admissoons process are :
Enrollment agreement
Admissions
Pre requisites
Terms and Conditions

The information that was placed in the resource notebook is the rules and regulations of admissions to the programs offered at the instituion. The rules that were discovered is the time period of informing students about fees.

Some of the terms frequesntly used during our admissions process are:
Admission Requirements: the entrance exam required by the program, TEAS and/or TOEFL; education requirements, prerequisite coursework, LORs.
Catalog: Outlines Campus info, Admissions Requirements and Procedures, Financial Aid/Assistance, Student Services,Programs of Study, Curriculum, Academic Standards, Student Responsibilities,Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Refund Policies, Administration Policies, Corporate Structure, Board of Directors and Campus History and Calendar.
Enrollment Agreement:A legally binding contract between student and institution forming the agreement to terms of enrollment.

I would say, like most schools, we discuss accreditation, the program and finally the steps to enrollment. We are a unique school in that, our main campus is in the UK, so we are not regionally accredited.

We do have programatic accreditation from the AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. This is a frequent topic of conversation with our prospective students.

The book of notes is important because you can put all the information you need, references of all the statutes that can help a clear vision of the institution, features and the same policies

Jennifer,
Questions are a great way to grow and learn. Questions help others to reflect and increase their knowledge.

Tarike,
I like to play a game of find something new. I open the regs and pick out a regulation to refresh and remind staff of the ongoing regulations. It is amazing how people think they know or have forgotten what the regulation truly states.

Jessica ,
Any information regarding graduates and job market information needs to be substantiated by legitimate and verifiable sources so noted.

Erick,
Is a re-enroll requirement to be a graduate? Some schools enrolls drops into a different program and also call them re-enrolls.

I am transitioning into the admissions role so the resource notebook wil be an invaluable tool for me. This forum has provided some great ideas for additions such as the monthly newsletter on CIE's website. We have also included helpful info such as FAQs about our program, guidelines for student records and accreditation info.

Everything that I printed from this course I have put in my notebook. I will need to ask a lot of questions and ask for different material from all the departments. I will add any changes that have been made.

While completing the course I printedthe different sections outlining the rules and regulations asit relates to Fair Consumer Practices, agents, condition of operation etc. Its a lot of information so its great to look back and review even after the course has been completed.

Enrollment Agreement:
contract giving all the details of begining their education at our institution.

Graduate Information disclosure:
Reports on the number of graduates and job market information.

Admissions Process:
Signing the application and taking an assessment

Prospect - A name and contact information of anyone interested in career training

Enrollment-An interview that commits to attending our school who meets our admissions requirements as specified in our catalog

Reenroll- A student that graduates and enrolls into another program with us

Reentry- A student that has withdrawn and returns to class

Bridget,

We need to make sure that the accreditation is recognized by the USDOE. There are many bogus accreditations out there that look like the real thing, but are not.

One term I hear on a daily basis multiple times a day is accrediation. We always want to make sure that a students past school is accrediated in order for us to take their course work. Another word used everyday is program, we always discuss what courses are taken in each program, when they are available to take and the course description.

JORGE,
Organizational charts are a great addition in that they give a visual understanding of the institution and staff.

LaShon,

Excellent! The more we learn about our school, the more we can perform with excellence. We never intend to mislead our students, but it can happen if we are not informed.

Patty Aronoff

Jael,
The statutes are the education laws and the rules explain how the laws are to be administered. Both very important resources.

Patty Aronoff

Colleen,
Interesting! It is common that the documents are used but not read! We need to change that common practice.
